i have been using this charger for several years now and am verry happy. It is large but you can charge 8 AA or AAA batteries at one time or 4 C or D batteries and it has a spot for a 9V also. Each charger spot (there are 4 seperate spots) works individually from the rest so each spot can hold 2 AA or AAA, 1 C or D. If you charge a 9V it will take up the 1st 2 charger sections.
We have this sitting right on the desk for easy use. We also use it with other brand batteries as well.
I like how versatile it is with the diffrent sized batteries it takes and the diffrent types.

This recharger functions good and does the job it is designed for. Its compatibility for several different types of batteries (AA, AAA, C, D) is a good feature to have.
I got this for the batteries of my digital camera. However the unit is SO large (You can kill someone with it). It is not practicle to carry this when you travel. That's why I gave this three stars.
If you're looking for something to use only at home and don't intend to carry with you when you travel, this may be a good buy. Otherwise definitely look for something smaller.

Even though the description says: "New 1 hour charger", it is NOT a 1 hour charger. I just got mine and is the SAME Universal Rayovac Charger that Amazon sells with free super shipping. So save the nine dollars for shipping if you want this PS3 Universal Charger and get it from Amazon instead. I had a 1 hour charger from Rayovac for years and it died recently and unfortunately it appears they no longer support a 1 hour battery charger. The PS3 is the best they make, but the Amazon one is the better deal.Customer Review: Amazon still shipping PS3D --NOT-- PS3

Prior to placing my order (April 2010) I called to get confirmation from an Amazon technician that the item shipping was indeed the PS3 and not the PS3D. They confirmed that the PS3 was shipping, not the PS3D. Unfortunately, this was not the case. They are, in fact, still shipping the PS3D although their own internal records may not indicate this. Calling them for confirmation of the actual item they are shipping in not a reliable course of action.Customer Review: Highly Recomended

Recharges all 3 kinds of batteries:alkaline, NiMH, NiCad. Recognizes the battery kind automatically.
Accepts all "1.5" volt battteries, AA, AAA, C, D.
Batteries are found in every electronics and department store:
WallMart, Kmart, Circuit City, Eckerd, Walgreens, Target, BestBuy etc.
The only bad news: 110 V only. It would be nice to have this toy in a 100-240 V AC auto mode.
