Customer Reviews of Remington F-720 Titanium Series ShaverCustomer Review: New verses Old Remington Razors (F-720 vice XLR3000C) Summary: 3 Stars
After using Remington electric razors close to 60 years, many models and shapes, I had my last US built razor fail. (Battery) I only use micro screen model razors. I need a travel razor for all types electric current supply and this model looked to fit the bill. Yes, it does the job; but I find it very light, awkward to hold, and the instructions concerning lights toally inaccurate. To shave with the cord attached goes back to the razors of the early days, only worse; because then the cord was straight and long and now it is short and curled. Yes I have to use it plugged in, due to suddenly without warning, the battery goes dead with green light still showing. All those lights are unnecessary, a simple low battery indicator would be better. My last model sat in the always plugged in charger and I never had to worry about it not being charged, until it's age gave out. It was close to 20 years in operation, and screen/blade were still obtainable, I even replaced the screen head with new parts 2 years ago. Having to charge the F-720 by direct plug-in is very inconvenient.
My opinion is Remington has now gone Chinese cheap; but it shaves very smooth and considering the price of a replacement screen and blade could be considered a throw-away when that time comes.
Customer Review: The best Remington yet Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using Remington rechargeable razors for at least 40 years - and have never been entirely happy but the rechargeable alternatives never seemed much better. The most recent past generation of Microscreen razors were great if you shaved every day - but I don't shave every day. I procrastinate and shave every 3rd or 4th day and the Microscreen razors just didn't do it! You had to use every trick you ever knew to go over certain areas time and time again and even changing the blades and screens didn't improve the quality of the shave.
So I decided to try this latest generation and if these didn't work - then sayonara to Remington. IMHO, this is the best Remington rechargeable yet! Almost four days since last shaved and this razor did the whole thing and did it well without having to use the separate little cutter blade which was always a last resort. I wish the build quality was a bit better but for what it's supposed to do, I'm impressed. And with the previous Microscreen razors, you never got more than 2 shaves before you had to recharge it. This new one looks like it will go alot more than 2 shaves before needing recharging.
Customer Review: Finally, an heir to the Intercept Summary: 5 Stars
They should just re-brand this as the Remington Intercept 2.0. And, if you've got an exceptionally tough beard, like mine, you know how significant that is. And, if you own an Intercept that has a few more miles on it than you might be comfortable with, you'll want to give this funny-looking shaver a try.
I've tried a variety of shavers, up and down the price scale, from a variety of manufacturers. None of them come close. Some try to imitate the Intercept's trimmer, but something was always missing. Usually, the problem was an anemic motor. And, while the motor on this one is a bit weak on the normal mode, it as a nice turbo button that gives it enough kick to make it usable.
If you're holding on to your old Intercept, and worrying about its age, consider picking this one up. You'll swear it's just an upgraded version.
Customer Review: So far - So Good Summary: 4 Stars
This is replacing a Remington DA-407 that I had for 10+ years. The DA-407 was simple, inexpensive initial purchase and replacement foils), cordless and corded use and manufactured by an American owned company. The f720 was the closest replacement I could find.
This was the first day I used the product but I was eager to post a review and my review is based on comparing it to my old DA-407.
This unit is very lightweight and simple to use and gave me a very close shave. It met my two most important requirements 1) American owned company 2) cordless/corded use.
Pros: American owned company, cordless/corded use, power indicator, rinses clean with water.
Cons: manufactured offshore (China), replacement foils are more expensive and more difficult to find
Customer Review: First oscilating electric after rotaries all my life Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this because it was on sale, for a backup, and a chance to try a "decent" oscillating/foil electric razor.
These just don't compare to the rotaries. I started out with a Norelco rotary as a teen, have owned another Philips/Norelco rotary, and currently own a Remington three head rotary.
Whether you shave every day, or have a longer beard, this just doesn't compare to any of the above three. It is not as close, *even with dull blades on my current rotary*, takes a long time to mow down any left over longer hairs-- having to go over and over to catch them just right.
Next purchase, I'm back to a rotary. I believe the Norelco/Philips is the best brand. Remington rotary batteries have had a much shorter charge life.
