I bought two Remington HKVAC-2000 haircut kits. The first one was for our son and worked so well my Dad wanted one for his Christmas present.
My son's hair is extremely thick so I take my time cutting his hair. The vacuum bag needs to be emptied three or four times before we are finished.
My Dad has baby fine, flyaway hair. Again, I have to cut his hair slowly so the hair goes into the blades.
There is very little hair that escapes the vacuum. It happens more often when I keep going over the already cut hair and get short pieces.
Having a special needs son, the Remington works great. DS isn't bothered by the sound and we don't have hair falling into his eyes or sticking to his equipment.

We have had one of these in our house since my son was born and he is 5. It is awesome to cut his hair and it all goes into the vacuum and is easy to dump.. very easy clean up. The cutting of the blades sometimes leaves streaky marks on his head but he thinks it is cool. Sometimes it pulls his hair when it is too long instead of cutting it. We use it only to cut his hair and if you want your kid to have anything but a buzz cut I wouldn't purchase. For us it works because he likes it like the cutter cuts :).Customer Review: Works as described

I was pretty surprised how well this works. Before I always had small hairs all over my bathroom floor, however with this, it's now none. Only gripe I really have with this is that the smallest attachment size is a 3mm (why don't they include 1mm and 2mm?). Besides that, it does a pretty good job keeping the bathroom floor hair-free and also does a pretty good job cutting evenly. A great product. Only reason it didn't earn a 5 star is because of the lack of attachments for people who want to maintain short buzz cuts.Customer Review: Great for Beginners, No Mess!

I got the Remington HKVAC-2000 Precision Vacuum Haircut Kit for my husband as a gift. He hated getting his hair cut and usually put it off for longer than he should have because he knew he'd come home with a disaster on his head that would look bad for weeks while the missing chunks grew back.
This thing is great. I've used clippers before and always hated it because the machine was heavy, oily and seemed dirty. This machine is so nice and lightweight. The vacuum is wonderful! We didn't expect it to collect so much hair. The first time we used it we put down an old sheet on the floor and my husband wrapped a towel around him to keep the hair off his shirt. Turns out we wasted our time because all but a couple hairs ended up in the vacuum chamber. The cord is hardly noticeable because it's so thin and is more than long enough to keep out of the way. This machine is also much quieter than other clippers I've used. Cleaning up was very easy.
Before getting this I had used clippers but only to tidy up botched necklines. I was very nervous about cutting my husband's hair for the first time but I have to admit I did a surprisingly good job. It turned out way better than the cuts he used to get at the walk-in chain salons. The instructions that came with the clippers were hard to follow at first. I watched some videos online that showed how to cut men's hair with clippers. After that the instructions made sense.

My husband has a lot of fine hair and we cut it every 2-3 weeks. We are amazed at how well it vacuums. There are a few hairs that didn't make it into the unit, but just a few. He wasn't even itchy.
