My teenage son has Down Syndrome and could not stand to get his haircut no matter what we tried (movies in front of him, treats promised afterward, etc.). One kind stylist suggested I give him buzz cuts at home and told me how easy that was if he'd sit for it. I bought a medium priced hair clipper and tried a buzz cut at home. I found out what he hated as much as anything was 1. the noise of the clipper 2. the clippings on his neck. The Remington clipper/vacuum solved both of his issues. my obtaining the remington 2000 hairclipper from amazon has made me a more self assured barber in cutting my own hair.
i've been cutting my hair for over thirty years, and i did it well enough that friends would make favorable comments about how well i did it. however, i just got the remington clipper, and i feel that the quality of the cutting immediately improved, because of the quality of the clipper and the clipper combs, plus the vacuum of the clipper insures a very even cut throughout the operation, and it shows.
my wholehearted endorsement for the remington 2000 hairclipper!

Bought the clippers b/c my 3 yr old hated having the cut hair fall on his face/neck. He got to the point where he would cry the minute I started clipping. Just used this clipper with built-in vacuum and it was fantastic. I was able to cut his hair quickly without a single whimper out of him. He also thought it was "neat" seeing me empty the hair into the trash. My son's hair is very thick and filtered into the vacuum just fine. I had to empty about 3 times but even with doing this, cutting went much quicker than normal b/c I was not fighting with my son! Clippers also cut very well. I'm a 54 y.o. guy whose 18 y.o. son just came home with this product. In a fit of craziness, I asked him to cut my hair! The results were very good - with a little practice I think we can get a great haircut, and some concentrated time together as well. Only problem - my hair was fairly long and the longest comb was a 1" - sure wish they had a 1.5", but I can't find where you can buy accessories on the Web. My hair is shorter than I'm accustomed to, but very even all around. My son was very proud of himself!!
Anybody know if you can get a longer comb for this thing?? It's a great product.

I used a Flowbee for ten years. It was funky and clunky but gave a decent cut. Recently the blades went dull and refused to cut. So I decided to donate it to Goodwill, embrace technology and get its latest competitor. After all, it sells for just twenty-five bucks.
I was a bit nervous but not like I was on the first Flowbee cut. Anyway, this Remington works like a charm and a whole lot easier to handle. First thing I heard today was, "who cuts your hair?" I had to make sure the question was meant as a compliment -- it was.
If I was a barber I'd be pretty nervous these days.
