I have had an electric Remington shaver in the past, and I though that this triple microscreen would be better than my single larger, microscreen. I was wrong. This model does not shave my beard as well as the single. I have to stretch my skin a lot to get a close shave. In fact, I have found that I have to go over my skin with a hand razor to catch all the small spots.
Also, its quite loud. Its noisier than my single screen model. I got a great deal on this shaver, but I do not think I would recommend it to anyone.

I bought a Remington Shaver before. 2 weeks after I bought it - it stopped working. I decided to give it a try again. I bought another Remington. Guess what?! It worked for a couple of weeks and once again - I plug it into the wall and the LED that indicates charging battery doesn't light up. The result is that I am once again disappointed with the quality of Remington shavers.
Thank God, Amazon sent me a replacement. I would be stuck with a non-working NEW shaver otherwise.

As stated in a review below to really cut close the trimmer must be used. I have a 2 screen shaver from remington which i replaced because the screens were messed up, and for the price i figured i could just buy a new shaver. This shaver doesn't really cut any better then my old 2 screen shaver. Both are average, and spit hair all over me. For cheap it's not bad. I don't regret buying it. But if you have a bigger budget i would look else where.Customer Review: Very good shaver, but.......

......you cannot use it while it is recharging. IMO, this is a drawback to the shaver, though perhaps not enough to dissuade a potential buyer from purchasing one as it works very well. The pop-up trimmer does a fine job for long hair. For the current $39 price(I paid $50+), I think you will have a hard time beating the value this shaver presents overall.
Overall, it is highly receommended.

I bought this as a replacement for my husband's previous model - MS3 2700. He shaves his head every day, so he goes through about one shaver per year. He has no complaints about the 1700, and he is getting a very smooth shave. I would give Remington 5 stars if they could make a product that specifically could stand up to head shaving. All in all, it's a good razor for the money and we are happy with it.
