Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. This one did not do the trick....Although the sweater is pretty big (long cable net with a hood), I think it would take about 2-3 hours to really get the job done and I'm not sure that would even do it! I thought it would be much more efficient however I haven't tried others to compare. It just seems pretty flimsy.Customer Review: a waste of time and money

I used the correct alkaline (not standard or heavy duty) batteries, as per their instructions, but this product did very little that I could see. In fact it was worse than doing nothing, as it did not affect the actual "pills" (which I ended up pulling off by hand), but it did shave the slight fuzz which was part of the original beauty of the sweater.Customer Review: Remington Fuzz Away Fabric Shaver

This works great and my clothes and sweaters look brand new again. My only complaint is that the fuzz kept getting stuck in the shaver and didn't go down into the holder like it is supposed to. I kept having to clean it out. But this may have been because of the angle I was holding it in. If the shaver was more upright, it may have worked better.Customer Review: Painfully destructive

This product works very well at removing pills from sweaters--until it sucks in the sweater itself and rips a hole in it. I have had this happen several times now on lighter-weight sweaters with a looser knit. If you intend to use it only on heavy and tight knits you will probably have good results, but BEWARE of using it on your precious cashmere.Customer Review: Useful shaver

All in all this is great and very simple device which will make your beloved sweater or pullover look like new. That is true. The only thing - you should careful apply it on too tender fabrics. My wife has made a hole on her blouse with that shaver. I suppose it works best on woolen things.
But in general it is very handy and useful Shaver.
