This is a paraffin based product that basically spreads powder over your face. It does help with dry shaving, and lasts a long time.
It also REEKS. If you do not like perfumes and colognes like me, do not get this. I hate the smell. I've used it many times and every time I do the smell stays with me half the day. YUCK. Why they are adding perfume to this product?
Furthermore, it behaves a lot like talcum powder, which means you end up with powder all over your shirt or counter after using, and it isn't especially easy to clean out of an electric razor. Since it's basically paraffin powder, it doesn't rinse out easily, you pretty much have to thoroughly brush out your razor periodically.

I've been using these for over 10 years. It does wonders for your face, but is death to your electric shaver if you don't clean it right. I went through a set of Philishave (Norelco) blades in 6 months, rather than the usual reccomendation of 2 years by being lazy in cleaning the blades. The powder is soothing to skin and you need only very little to soak up the oils on your face, but dammit, it'll dull your rotary blades quick if you don't clean them with the supplied brush. I switched to an old refurbished (by me) Remington foil shaver and the powder seems to have less of an impact on blade longevity with foil/screen shavers. Use sparingly! Shave dry! Works great - not a hint of razor burn or irritation. I use it mainly on my neck and chin, which are the areas that are the most difficult to shave. Face Saver not only helps the razor glide more easily, it helps get those hairs on your neck that just won't stand up so they can get clipped.
I've used it with rotary and foil shavers - works very well with both, and clean-up is a snap. Unlike one reviewer, I don't find the scent objectionable (but I've never used the older version so I don't have anything to compare it to). In fact, I think it smells rather nice!
If you shave with an electric shaver, you simply have got to give this stuff a try.

I have been using the facesaver sticks for almost 2 years. I have tried the liquid pre-shaving lotions and these and the sticks are a lot better.
Very simple to use, it helps the shaver slide through the skin and you get no irritation. I find that is better to use it in the mornings after you shower or wash your face. I've notice that in the mornings after you shower or wash your face the hair grows a little bit, you use the stick and shave and you don't have to wash you face again. If you leave the powder on your face after you shave also helps if you have oily skin. After you shave there is almost no residue of the powder.

Face Saver Rules. Afta shave Is the pitts. I use this exclusively after trying afta shave.
I ordered on line, because the Walmarts in Cromwell, is not going to sell it any more. The only place near me that was carrying it. So, I bought it on line. They had the goods, and the service was good!
I usually buy 4 at a time, so I do not shop as much. If local drug stores had them, like it was 3 years ago, They would get my business.I could buy one when I was low. Been there, done that :)
My only soure within 45 min's was Walmart, and now they are not going to carry it! So I orderee on line, and got the right product!
