Customer Reviews of Remington Wet 2 Straight 2" Wide Plate Wet/Dry Ceramic Hair Straightening Iron with TourmalineCustomer Review: Awesome product - I now love my hair! Summary: 4 Stars
As a straightener this iron is not the greatest (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars), but as a dryer it has changed my life! I have chin length wavy frizzy hair that I normally blow dry every day, resulting in a bit of a puffball, and then I go over it with a straightener until it looks normal, the whole process takes at least 30 minutes. I didn't believe that this thing could actually dry my hair, but it sure did, and fast! In about 10 minutes my whole head is dry and my hair is about 90% straight and what's even better, it's FLAT! No poof! No frizz! I can run my fingers thru it and it's silky smooth immediately after drying, I could never say that when I blow dried. I do have to go over it afterwards with another straightener (I use the Infrashine, which is great), but I only need to spend another 10 minutes with that and then my hair looks AWESOME. I don't think I've ever in my life been so happy with my hair, I recommend this to anybody who battles the blow dryer each morning. Also, I no longer need to use all the gels and other products I used before, just a little bit of frizz serum is all I need. Get this iron you will be so glad you did :)
Customer Review: Wow! Summary: 5 Stars
I have long, fine curly hair that gets very frizzy at the drop of a hat. I have tried to straighten my hair in the past, and it looks great for about an hour, then I look like Rosanne Roseannadanna from Saturday Night Live. Nasty, frizzy, fly away hair that I have to wash and start over fresh with in order to be able to be seen in public. A friend recommended this straightener, and after reading the reviews I decided to try it. All I have to say is, WOW! My hair is flat and smooth and straight, even the next day! It looks awesome when I first do it, and stays looking really smooth until I wash it. I do run the iron over the ends again the next morning just because they like to get a little puffy, but even if I didn't it would look great. It really does dry wet hair. It is a little bit time consumming, it takes me about 30-45 minutes to straighten my long hair after a shower, but it is so worth it, especially since it lasts until I shower again. I use anti-frizz serum in my wet hair before I start and anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner. For the first time in my life, I have smooth straight hair, and I couldn't be happier.
Customer Review: It Changed My Life and It Was Worth Every Penny Summary: 5 Stars
I have very dry, thick, curly hair and a lot of volume too. Every few months I have to relax my curl in order to keep it under control. I also live in the tropics where heat and a lot of humidity don't exactly help my hair remain frizz free. I was very skeptical when I first bought this product because I had tried many hair straighteners and all had given me poor results. Thank goodness that I was finally proven wrong! This product definitely does what it says it will do and is very affordable in comparison to other products on the market. I flatten my hair after I blow dry it and I have finally been able to tame my wild hair into soft, smooth, silky, straight hair. I have been getting plently of compliments but most importantly, I feel happy with my hair! I have recommended this product to friends and family and they have also acheived wonderful results. I recommend that you buy a deep conditioning treatment (Redken Heavy Cream) and leave it in your for 15 minutes with a self warming cap, rinse out and apply a heat protectant on your hair (Redken Heat Glide) before the process. Your hair will be fabulous!
Customer Review: Its OK..... Summary: 2 Stars
I know this review may not be very helpful to most of you but I am just going to name some problems with this straigtening iron to warn you.I have wavy hair too so some of these problems may not affect you.
-It doesn't straighten wet hair.(It actually does, but my hair is still partially wet and it becomes wavy after it dries)
-It is only COATED in ceramic, after a while of use, it eventually chips off, leaving your hair exposed to even more damage than it has already done.(I'd suggest getting a ceramic plated straightener)
-The straight hair doesn't last. After a day at school, it starts getting wavy, especially if it is humid outside.
-It does damage to your hair. Its not as bad as those $10.00 ones but you still end up with a bunch of split ends and frizzy, damaged hair
There are also good things to it too, and it seems awesome when you first get it but eventually after a short while it wears down. I'd suggest getting a little bit more expensive hair straightener that will live up to the price.
Customer Review: Better than I expected Summary: 4 Stars
After going through 2 CHIs in 2 years, I was hesitant to blow yet another 100 bucks on one. After reading the reviews on the Remington, I figured it would be worth the shot for the money.
I've only been using this iron for about 2 weeks and so far I'm quite pleased. I like the fact you can set your temperature control according to your hair type and that it heats up fairly quickly.
I've tried using it on both damp (not wet) and dry hair and have been impressed with how well it straightens.
I'd say the best thing I've noticed about this iron is that my hair tends to hold the "straight" longer than with other irons. I have very wavy hair and live in a very humid area - a bad combination. I usually go a couple of days between hair washing and have been surprised how well my hair has held up. I have a few stubborn sections, but overall the style stays.
All in all, I say this is definitely worth a try if you're wavering on chunking down money on a flat iron but don't want to break the bank.
