Customer Reviews of Remington Wet 2 Straight 2" Wide Plate Wet/Dry Ceramic Hair Straightening Iron with TourmalineCustomer Review: Love it Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this over the weekend and tried it out this morning. I have long, thick hair that is naturally loosely curled and responds pretty well and easily to styling. I usually get bored and exhausted while straightening my own hair, especially when I have to use a blow dryer; I'd usually go to the salon to get it done. I used this on my wet hair today and 45 minutes later, had pin-straight, dry hair (and arms that weren't sore). It steamed a little, but nothing scary. There are different settings (depending on whether your hair is dry/wet, fine/thick, normal/damaged, etc), and setting the temperature is really simple.
The only reasons I'm giving this 4 stars are:
1. I haven't tried it enough times to be sure it works all the time without slaughtering my hair. (I used a heat protector spray just in case and know I will use it once every couple months.)
2. I've always been a little wary of straightening irons.
But it's great so far, and I recommend it :)
Customer Review: Cheapest and BEST flat iron I have ever used. Summary: 5 Stars
Over the years I have used many a hair straightener. Cheap ones that I should have known wouldn't work, expensive ones that should have worked [and didn't] and then this one. I didn't buy this myself, it was a gift a few Christmases back. Honestly, when I opened it I couldn't help but think 'I wonder how well this is going to work' due to its packaging and price. Nonetheless, I tried it, and three or four years later it's still my Holy Grail flat iron. My sister, who has even curlier hair than I do. And I mean curly -- tight, tight ringlest, all the way down her back, swears by this as well. She actually took mine [ -.- ] so I will probably be buying another through Amazon, too. This price is cheaper than my at my local Walmart. Also, it really does work on wet hair but it is EXTREMELY bad for your hair and can send head to your scalp killing hair growth. But, I have done it when in a hurry and it has worked.
I recommend this to anyone.
Customer Review: damages hair WAY TOO MUCH Summary: 1 Stars
this product (like any other) works well on really healthy, thick asian hair (which is why i even gave it a star at all). If you were to have dry, or thin, or curly hair, it will damage your hair A LOT. I used it constantly, and until i STOPPED using it for two weeks, i realized how damaged my hair was before from using it. If you were to use this product on your hair while it's wet, it damages it A LOT for ALL hair types. I used to have a revlon ceramic straightener and it is about the same price as this, and it worked really well, considering it's price. The ceramic on this straightener is VERY bad quality and it isn't worth your money. I would NEVER even consider using this in a salon. I would recommend a Revlon straightener because out of all of the different brands i've used, it works and is the least damaging to my hair, because of the better quality ceramic.
dont' get remington, cause this product bites.
this product bites.
Customer Review: Satisfied but remember to use in moderation Summary: 4 Stars
I'm pretty satisfied with this product. I noticed some people have mentioned that their hair would not fully dry, there are split ends, and their hair would still be wavy. I do not have any of these problems. Please keep in mind this is a fairly cheap product. Please do not consider this to be a professional product, you do get what you pay for. If you want something amazing, go with GHD, that's if you're welling to shell out $200. Like straightening irons, curling irons, and even hair dryers, extensive use can damage your hair, that part is a given. When using these products, remember to also protect your hair to maintain a healthy shine. My hair is pretty easy to manage which could be why I have no problems with this straightening. So far I am fairly pleased and have gotten the results I've been looking for. I will however look for a better straightening iron once i have the money to invest in one.
Customer Review: Great Buy Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this straightener about a month ago, and have been very pleased ever since. This is my first straightener, but will always be my favorite. I have thin hair that is fairly straight, but always gets messed up when I sleep. This product helps me a lot. I can typically do my hair in less than 10 minutes when it is dry. However, I am not quite a fan of using this when my hair is wet. It doesn't quite dry damp hair, which means that even if I do straighten my hair, it will dry and go back to it's natural state (a little frizzy and wavy). But that's not to say it doesn't do a great job on dry hair. This is a great buy and I do reccomend it to anyone.
*This does not have to do with the product, but Amazon did send me the 1 inch version of this product at first. I was very frustrated, but the replacement product came in a fairly prompt manner.
