Customer Reviews of Remington Wet 2 Straight 2" Wide Plate Wet/Dry Ceramic Hair Straightening Iron with TourmalineCustomer Review: It's just not worth it... Summary: 2 Stars
I've been using it for awhile (a year maybe), so that shows you that it DOES work, but:
-My hair is totally damaged!! Hair gets caught and I now have extremely damaged hair.
-I have never been able to use it wet - plus it seems dangerous...maybe it's just my hair, since it is really thick and full, but I would blow dry my hair almost to done & try to use this and I still had drops coming out burning me. AWK!
-It takes me several goes over each strand of hair to get it straight and when your hair is long, it seems to take FOREVER to do!
-AND lastly...it is bulging up in at the end, so I am cramping my hand daily trying to keep the plates together. My hand is in pain even now...not a good thing!
Just not worth all of the issues, honestly.
Customer Review: I liked it.. Summary: 5 Stars
I honestly can't see how people are having so many problems. I have thick curly hair and it dried my hair pretty quickly as well as straightened it, with no frizzies! I think the people who were having frizz problems have to understand that if you straighten your hair everyday, it causes damage no matter what...also, maybe try a different styling product. I recommend Aussie or Garnier Fructis Smoothing Milk. And, as many have said, there is no magic product that causes your hair to dry in one, quick swoop.. I went through about 3-5 times on each section, and it didnt take much time at all (I have waist length hair). What I liked was that it didnt take the volume out of my hair, which I've had problems with straightening in the past, so my hair was pretty flat. I recommend it! A!
Customer Review: just OK... Summary: 3 Stars
I've had this straightener for around 6 months now, and was happy the first few times I used it. I've noticed though that it takes a long, LONG time to kind of straighten my thick, stubborn, frizzy hair. Within a few hours my hair was right back where it was before. I've tried numerous hair products to go along with the straightener, I've tried blow-drying and not blow-drying, wet and dry. The results and inevitably dissappointing, especially considering that my hair-stylist can straighten my hair beautifully with her chi and the results last well into the next day. I'm currently looking for a better quality flat iron. If you have easy hair, this straightener will work well for you. For stubborn to impossible hair like mine, I would look elsewhere.
Customer Review: Remington Straighening Iron S-8000. Summary: 2 Stars
The straightener works ok. It straightens my hair better when it is dry. I have very course hair. I still had to blow dry it to get it to straighten out, and go over it a few times to really make it straight. The remington is to thick, so you can not style the hair at all with it. The worst part about this particular straightener is when I leave it plugged in and have it shut off it keeps making a beeping sound?? I have to unplug it to make it stop. I just bought a chai straightner for about three times the cost of this, it is only 1 inch thick so it styles the hair very nice, but it straightens my hair the same as the remington. I have only had it a few weeks, so I am intrested to see if the chai causes less damage as it claims then other straighteners.
Customer Review: LOVE IT!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this straightener so much! I had originally bought this one at Wal-mart and I lost it when moving. I was very upset so I had to buy it again. I looked around and Amazon had it cheaper so I got it again. It works wonders on my long thick hair and it doesn't take very long. I don't use the wet feature very much since the one time I did it took my hair from wet to a damp frizzy mess then to a sleek shiny strait but it took an hour. I use a hair dryer to dry than finish it up with the straightener and my hair looks amazing. This straightener does get hot and I have had my hair burn me before but I just cut down the heat and it's fine but you have to be careful and know what your doing. All in all I highly recommend this straightener.
