Fact: This item really does work. My top lashes were short and pathetically sparse due to constant eyelash curling and my lower lashes were nonexistent. Both have grown dramatically in length and thickness after using this product. The change is very noticeable to myself and to others quickly resembling the infamous "insect legs" look. Through touch, my lashes feel awfully thick and tough (coarse) whereas before they felt very fine and soft. I can understand why mascara is no longer necessary for some women, though with the extra application my lashes truly look a mile long!
Now for the bad:
1. One ingredient in this product is the same ingredient in drops that are used to treat glaucoma. This ingredient apparently causes eyelashes to curl, and the irises and eyelids along lash line to darken. All of these side effects has happened to me. For example, I can really tell the eyelids darkening after a workout. I basically look like I am wearing a gray shade of eyeliner. My medium brown eyes has turned dark brown...purportedly irreversible. It is probably best to use the newer, "safer" version of this product. However, I heard that results were much slower.
2. Through initial use, the product burned my eyes and caused irritation and some dryness. The burning only lasted 5-10 seconds after each initial application while dryness and irritation vary in duration. This all went away after a couple months of consistent nightly use.
3. Results may be slow. It took about 2-3 months for me to really notice results. I have been using the product pretty religiously for the past 8 months.
4. Lashes will hit "plateaus" - periods where they will refuse to lengthen. Whether or not they will continue to grow is varied. I believe that there is a "set lash length" for everyone likened to a "set weight." Sadly, I feel that I have reached my limit. My "new" lashes aren't as long as I had hoped but I am Asian so who am I kidding? I'm happy just knowing that I now have more than 20 lashes per eye!
5. Hair growth is...UNCONTROLLABLE. Your lashes may be curling here but not there, growing longer here while other areas are sparse or not as long. The outer corners are especially long and curly for me. Overall lashes on my right eye is also a tad bit longer than that of my left.
6. Eyelashes like the hair on your head goes through cycles. Results from revitalash thus aren't permanent. Once the hair falls out, you start off once again with short nubs for lashes. Revitalash requires upkeep and commitment, which is expensive over time.
I have listed a lot of "negatives" in this review but I don't consider any of them horrible per se. Annoying? A bit. Still, I feel confident about this product and have recommended it to friends and family. It is a bit pricey and I am as thrifty as the next person in this economy, but one tube takes forever to finish. I have been using the same tube for 8 months and still have plenty left. Remember that a little goes a long way.
Update: Item has expiration date though I am not completely sure if this is printed on the box or tube. A fresh tube does wonder but I have noticed that an old tube does absolutely nothing! Maybe some users haven't seen results because of this? A reminder that it is so important that you purchase the product from a reputable source.

I won't get into the fact that the product contains an ingredient that may possibly be bad for eye health. I am neither a professional nor have I experienced any Horrible side effects. I will simply critique my experience with the product, side effects, as well as the negatives.
Fact: This item really does work. My lashes have become longer and thicker. Very noticeable. The results are open to interpretation; subjective. Some think my lashes are amazing while others think they look sort of bad because they resemble "insect legs" (long and thick) LOL Either way, everyone notices the change in length. Through touch, they feel awfully thick and tough whereas before they felt very fine and soft. And with the help of mascara my lashes look a mile long!! Also, I would like to point out that I had barely any bottom lashes but they have begun to really grow. My top lashes were short and sparse due to constant eyelash curling and they have grown dramatically esp. the outer corners.

ALL of this HAS happened to me. I believe this is the ingredient that is questionable and may be unhealthy for you. It WILL be a good idea to use the newer safer version of this product though I heard results were a bit slower. I will be switching over when I am done with the tube.

Customer Review: The new formulation of Revitalash has worked for me!

I've seen many reviews of the more expensive eyelash conditioners and stimulators on various websites. One of the more expensive ones even has a 90 day guarantee which made the $140 almost seem worth it. It was very confusing differentiating the reviews from new formulas and old formulas, but in the end I decided, I would at least give the NEW formulation of Revitalash a try first.
I purchased Revitalash exactly 8 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks my eyelashes had darkened some, though my eyelashes were pretty dark to begin with. I also noticed after I put Revitalash on my lashes seemed to curl on their own. By the 4th week I was seeing some improvement on the length. I really noticed it when putting on mascara. By the 7th week, my lashes seemed to have grown overnight! I can actually see my "new" lashes compared to the old ones that haven't cycled out yet, and there is a significant difference.
My reason for using this product was to lengthen and thicken my lashes. At this point if this was all the length I could get I would be happy. Just a tad longer and that would be a bonus! I'm not into the "spider" look some women are going for. Yikes! Also, I haven't really noticed more of a fuller, thicker lash, but as my old lashes keep cycling out that may change. Yea, so don't be suprised if you lose some lashes, new ones are coming in!
I will continue to use the rest of my Revitalash. I may eventually try the other brand, though right now I see no reason to as I am quite satisfied with my results.
If I were going to give anyone some tips about using Revitalash they would be, put it on before bedtime. Apply it as liquid eyeliner, above the lash line, not on the lashes themselves! That is a quick way to get it into your eye, which I've read can cause pressure problems. It also slightly stings, not as bad as soap though. That I know from a one time over zealous application! If applied correctly none of this should be a problem. I would also suggest alternating between starting from the inner corner and outer corner. Also, be patient and make sure you use it EVERY night, not sporadically and I'm sure you will see results too!

It has been a few weeks since I purchased this and since my initial review. I went to my eye doctor for my annual review and told her what I was doing. She said she was not concerned at all about the product except to say that it would leave the line along the lash line (it is very faint and just looks like I have a little eye liner on so it's actually great) and not to put it on my lower lashes since putting it on my top lashes before bed would help it also go to my bottom lashes while I was sleeping. If you put it on your lower lashes you may get the additional line down there and maybe some unwanted hair growth. My doctor stated that my lashes looked healthy and she could see the new growth. Based upon what she saw and my personal experience she said she felt comfortable now recommending it to people as she had not met anyone who was using it before but had done her research on it. People have started commenting that I looked "different" and wanted to know what it was. Once I pointed out what I was doing that was the difference they were noticing but couldn't put their finger on it. I have very sensitive eyes and skin and was really afraid I would have a reaction to this and have not. I am loving the results and am truly surprised at how effective it is. I would highly recommend.
I am a natural blonde with very light eye lashes so it has always been an issue for me to have lashes that "show". Nothing dramatic but if I didn't have mascara on my eyelashes would disappear. I have used it for four nights and am shocked to see that my lashes are "different" already. I say different because I can't confirm for sure that they have grown BUT they appear longer (as commented on by others) and they feel thicker when I use my curler on them. They also seem to separate better and are more distinct now. This is coming from someone who read the reviews and expected results after several weeks if not a couple of months. Is it DRAMATIC yet? No but I definitely can tell and my daughter and friends have commented on it so I know it is not just in my head. I will update in several weeks time but as of right now I am very happy to already notice a difference.

I was skeptical at first about this product considering that the description for the product says that it will "help achieve the beautiful LOOK of Longer, Thicker, and Fuller eyelashes". It doesn't actually claim to make them physically longer or thicker. But after using it for 4 weeks I noticed a big difference in the length and condition of my lashes. I took pictures to document and the before and after progress and was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the photos 4 weeks later and saw much change. I was so pleased with the results I posted my pictures on amazon.
Here is a little bit about my experience: After using the product their was a slight itch on my eyelids. The itch discontinued after about 1-2 weeks of use. The itch was not bad enough to stop using and didnt result in any redness on the skin around my eyes. After using the product for 4 weeks i developed a mild stye or ingrown hair on my upper lid...not noticeable to anybody but me. The stye disappeared after 3-4 days. The stye may not have had anything to do with revitalash but may have...something to keep in mind for those susceptible to styes. I have blue eyes and have read other reviews that said they noticed brown spots in their irises. I saw no difference whatsoever in the color of my eyes. I have even accidentally got some of the product in my eyes but still saw no difference. I only saw a change in the length and shininess of my lashes not the color.
My only complaint about revitalash is the price tag. This product seems to be a glorified hair conditioner. Although the price is steep I have seen enough of a change in my lashes to continue using revitalash.
I would absolutely recommend Revitalash to anybody looking for a change in their lashes. But don't expect miracles. Revitalash will not make your lashes look like the false lashes that you see on TV and magazines. So as long as your expectations are realistic I think you will be happy with your purchase, I know I am. Good luck!
