I just received this a couple of weeks and have used it 3 times now. It works like a charm and worth every cent! No difficult instructions, it's very easy to use. Take a look at the picture, that's all you need to do. Stick the potato on the prongs, put the blade on the top, push the button and it starts peeling and it automatically stops once it's down to the bottom. It doesn't take off too much of the potato either. Maybe slightly more than a potato peeler, about the same as a parer knife though. It goes very fast too, only a few seconds to peel 1 potato. I'd guess you can do 2-3 potatoes with this vs. 1 potato manually peeling. This will come in VERY handy for the upcoming holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
It also works for a variety of fruits and veggies: apples, lemons, limes, cucumbers, zucchini, etc.
Don't hesitate in buying this. With the cost of only $30.00 it's well worth the money even if you were to use it only a few times.

I bought one of these after I was given the task of peeling potatos for a family event. I thought "there must be a way to automate this". So like any good geek, I hit the internet with "potato peeler" and found this item. Originally the tool received a very tepid response.
It would "jump" off the potato while peeling. However, I discovered this is because you must push the arm down after raising it such that it "clicks". Then it doesn't jump and works wonderfully. Every time potatoes are served at dinner I get credit as if I'd peeled them myself.
I only wish it came in a sturdy stainless steel construction to match the rest of the kitchen. I think the "seen on TV" ads really do this item a injustice since it really does work! If ever find yourself peeling more than a few potatoes, do yourself a favor and get this thing.

I owned the original manual Rotato years ago, and loved it but got rid of it during the "carbs are bad" craze. Now that I've got a family to feed every night, every little thing I can do to make food prep faster and easier is a bonus. I've peeled at least 30 pounds of potatoes with this so far on the same blade, all with zero problems. It's incredibly fast and easy. I put a bowl next to it and direct the peels into it. I keep it in a cabinet when not in use and use the A/C adapter. The razor is in such a place that I do not let my 7-year-old daughter near it out of paranoia. My girlfriend expressed concern with the 1/8" of potato it takes with it when peeling, but for me it's well worth it for all the time it saves and ease in using. I received this as a gift from my wish list and it peeled the potato much faster than I expected. I never used to make mashed potatoes because I hate to peel them; since I got this peeler, I've made them more in these past few months than I've made in years.
I remember when I read the reviews, someone wrote about it being made of cheap plastic. Well, I live in South Florida and I'm really glad that it is not metal -- the plastic (or whatever it is made of) is VERY easy to clean and lightweight. It is perfect.
Note: My peeler accommodates batteries and also came with an AC adapter. If you live in a high humidity area like I do, you probably know that the AC adapter is a must.

I had both of my thumb joints replaced last year and even after healing it was very painful to peel vegetables and fruit. Tonight I used the Rotato Express to peel potatoes, oranges & apples and the peeling was all in one long piece, not messy little pieces. It was easier than I ever dreamed possible, one touch of the button and I have beautifully peeled vegetables and fruit.
I encourage everyone to try it, it really does save more of the veggies and fruit by peeling really thin layers. I ordered 2 packages of extra blades and I'm sure glad I did, I don't want to be without this appliance. Hoorah,Hoorah,Hoorah for the very quick efficient Rotato Express.
