This magnifier Is basically a good design, light of weight, eases of adjustment of headgear. But the light on both sides go straight ahead. If you would take out the mold for the plastic injection machine, and make some simple design changes, so that the lights would both get a little from the middle, so there would be light in the middle and the edges. I have worked in a plastic mold injection, before becoming a senior inspector, and have been a quality-control manager, and would have been again in 1999, if work injury to did not put me out of business. I would've been working for a small company that worked for the department of defense. It was a small company then that fixed and repaired, also armored the Humvees. But it is not little anymore. But thats the way things go. You got to live with life gives you, to make thing the best as possible. So a little of the of quality here, could take you long ways. If I saw these changes,I may change my two stars to the maximum. I bought this SE MH1041LC LED Lighted Head Magnifier for one project and find myself using it several times a week. It is fantastic. I find the magnification better and clearer than any other magnifier I have ever tried. The clear magnification is not just at the center in one tiny area but the whole lens! Fantastic. True it is plastic but what do you expect for $10? Still it is extremely well made for $10. It stays on my head just fine. It is comfortable. It doesn't slip. It is adjustable to other size heads when someone else wants to use it. There are two lights on either side each powered by two AAA batteries (batteries not included) that operate independently of each other. When I purchased it I thought I was going to have to use the drop down lens in addition to the jeweler's loupe lens and my reading glasses to read the 14K marking on jewelry and such, but just the one stationary lens on this SE MH1041LC led lighted head magnifier is sufficient. I can't imagine ever being without one of these. I just sent one to my son as a housewarming gift.Customer Review: I give them 4 1/2 stars

I bought 2 of these a few weeks ago. They were only $5.50 then, but even at the current price of $8.45 they are a great deal. FYI, Orvis sells them for $39!!!
Anyway, I am pleased with my purchase. Although these are not quite as comfortable or as ruggedly made as my OptiVISOR, they work just as well and cost MUCH less. You'll pay $25-$40 for an OptiVISOR. An additional lens is $18-$30. Their optional loupe is about $8. A lighting system (either LED or Xenon) is at least $22. Do the math then buy one of these.
One thing people complain about on these visors is the LEDs not pointing where they should. You can fix this yourself in a few seconds. All you need to do is move the LEDs with your finger to adjust their aim. That's all there is to it.

I bought these knowing they would not be of the highest quality, but for the price
they're not bad. I definitely can see better with them and I bought them to do
laptop repair. The LED lamps leave a lot to be desired, but I'm going with a Photon
Freedom lamp mounted on top of the visor pc which will give out a much better
view for what I'm doing. I removed the two LED lamp assemblies to make it a
bit lighter and this has worked out fine. The 3 lens that come with it work fine
for me. One can't really expect a lot from these, but so far they have surprised
me as far as seeing small parts and connections. We'll see how they hold up.

I really liked this magnifier. I had been looking for a head mounting maginifier for sometime now. Just to use for crafts, splinters, and other nail issues. So far this one has been exactly what I was looking for. I really enjoy the jewlery attachment however you have to be really close to the item your inspecting for it to be in focus. The other magnifier lens that are attached are good as well. Also, the head strap works and stays put. The lights are bright my only disappointment with those is you can't adjust which way they aim the light. Overall I am really pleased with this product and for $9.00 total with shipping I feel I got a really good product for the price.
