I bought the gum as a convenient source of caffeine. After trying the first piece, I knew I was returning it. Horrible, absolutely terrible taste. I can't even describe it and it lingered in my mouth for half and hour after I chewed it. I couldn't even chew it for 5 minutes like the packaging suggested so bad it was! I'm not a coffee drinker, so take that at value. Initially the mint is pleasant, if a little 'over-whelming' then as the mint wears down a little as you chew, you get hit will the caffeine bitterness. And it is down-right unpleasant. Saying that however, it sure pepped me up so it does the job. Just don't expect it to taste nice...Customer Review: Tastes good, appears to work, is portable, and is non-perishable

Good. I actually enjoy the taste (Arctic Mint), and it appears to work. I personally don't ever drink coffee (nor do I want to start that habit) but every so often I need something to help wake me up or to stay alert. I especially like that it is in a small/portable long-lasting/non-perishable form and is easy to consume.Customer Review: I'm still awake!

We had a long 12 hour drive. It works. I think I bought enough to last a lifetime. I do wash them off before consumption though. It has so much dye on them. It still worked though.
The taste is less than good, but hey that may wake you up too.

this gum is a bit harsh at first. after you have been chewing it for a week or so you can stand the taste. sorta like when your first make the switch to a diet drink. works great though! i suggest the artic mint, it tastes a bit more like regular gum.
