Initially I was concerned by other reviews that painted Stay Alert in a less than favorable light in terms of flavor. I went ahead and ordered the spearmint.
Stay Alert gum is designed primarily as a caffeine delivery system - not as a replacement for your favorite chewing gum. That said - I didn't find the bitterness to be overbearing and actually found myself chewing the gum longer than the 5 minutes suggested on the package.
The day after the package arrived I ended up running late and substituted the gum for my first blast of coffee. Stay Alert did the trick - and far quicker than the coffee would have. I ended up skipping my second cup which I usually drink just after arriving in the office. I brought a pack into work and three of my co-workers gave it a try. All of them agreed that the onset of the caffeine affect was much quicker than coffee. None of us experienced any other affect other than increased alertness.
My next order is for a case which I'll be splitting with a co-worker.
I would not hesitate to recommend this product for those who need a quick and effective burst of caffeine.

Maybe I'm a rotten apple but, I didn't get any of the effects the "military" proved to exist. I bought both the cinnamon and arctic flavors JUST in case it might work. I took two pieces of gum every morning for 5 days to test whether or not I felt more awake. I would be 30 minutes into chewing the gum and had no effect.
I read other reviews, they stated the gum had a horrible taste which I didn't find to be THAT bad. If I had a choice I would stick with Arctic Mint though.
I gave my friend 2 packs to see whether or not it had an effect on him, he said it worked well and kept him awake. Like I said, I may be a rotten apple where this gum didn't have an effect on me, but my friend and others agree it does work. I wish there was a 2.5 review, but I'll round up to be nice ;)
Do try it though, it's definitely cheap and it works for most people. Good luck.

These work in minutes--which is fantastic (especially when I'm suddenly sleepy in the car or at a meeting) and they don't give me heartburn like coffee can (and, hooray, because it's gum & not liquid, it also keeps me from needing the bathroom a million times, like coffee, tea, or soda--which is AWESOME!). They travel well too. The only thing I don't like is the taste after about 2 minutes (they say to chew it for 5 minutes) and there are times I just can't chew it the whole time becuase the taste is just bitter and icky--HOWEVER, the gum works SO well for me that I have started associating the bitter taste with waking up/perking up, so I'm getting used to it. I will definitely buy it again--I'm really, really psyched to have found it.Customer Review: Rip Off

I bought this gum, due to my high tolerance for caffeine. Coffee, esspreso,and energy drinks simply don't work for me. WhenI bought this product i was more than eager to try it out. but turns out to be a complete waste of money. I ignorantly bought this product due to other customer praises from the comments. I'm extremely upset!! It not the fact that my money was wasted it was the fact that i bought a product in expectation that it would work and it didn't fufill it requirements. Please don't write bogus comments/reviews, people actually read them to seek opinions. I am greatly disappointed. Received the gun two days back, and been loving. Initially I was a little hesitant to eat it because I was expecting its bitterness to hit my mouth as soon as I chewed it (thats the idea I got from some of the reviews) but honestly its not bitter AT ALL. In fact, my normal coffee tastes more bitter than this. Its a great alternative to coffee or energy drinks. I consume a lot of caffeine and used to drink a lot of Monster but now this works as a great substitute. I would have to say it is effective, partly because of the 100mg of caffeine, and partly because of the placebo effect.
Loving it and probably gonna be buying a lot more of it in the near future.
