I bought this elsewhere but looked up the item here specifically to warn people away from it. Amazon, in my heart you have *TEN* stars.
This product, however ..
I have no idea about the claims regarding accelerating healing, killing bacteria, or eliminating scarring. As to instantly relieving pain, it helps a little. Not as much as the FOIL cream my mom used on me when I was a kid, but enough to be worth having it around.
Provided you burn yourself anywhere BUT your hands, that is. Because while this product comes in a normal ointment tube, it's capped with a childproof ridged top--like those on some branded pill bottles. While this might seem like a good idea to keep Juniors and Juniorettes from eating it like mucus-colored candy, it is NOT a good idea for someone who has, y'know, just burned the heck out of their hands.
The ridges create insanely sharp edges against burnt flesh, and the cap requires you to tightly squeeze these edges and press down in exactly the right sequence and direction. Despite paying $6 for this tube, I very nearly cut open the bottom with scissors as an alternative to fighting the cap.
OVERALL: Good idea, BAD BAD BAD packaging.
