Customer Review: Keep the Tube in the roll!

Are you kidding! The only reason they are omitting the tube is to save money and increase their profit margin. They couldn't care less about saving tons of waste. The shame of it is that every article and report about this "innovation" is just a reiteration of Kimberly-Clark's press release. Are there any independent THINKING minds left in the mass media, or just parrots to tow the line.
I mean really, Toilet paper without a tube! What's next? Q-Tips with out sticks!? Just a wisp of cotton you shove in your ear and twist.
What a stupid idea.
If you don't believe me, try to hold a roll of toilet paper in your hand and "work" the roll WITHOUT putting your fingers in the tube! It can't be done. The roll will end up on the floor time and time again. The tube is integral to the proper functioning of the roll.
Furthermore, it is the tube that gives the roll its structure. It is the skeleton of the roll. With out a tube the roll is almost "glob-like" and lacks substance, especially as you near the end of the roll.
What the experts at Kimberly-Clark may not realize, is that many people do not put the toilet paper roll on the bathroom TP holder. Instead, the leave it "Free" on the toilet tank or counter and use it like that. You can not do that effectively without the tube.
I know that this may seem like an unimportant issue to get all worked-up about; however, I feel it has merit. There are things in life that we rely on. Some are big things and some are very small things. But, they are things non-the-less. They are consistent. They are tried and true. They are things that are so reliable that their use is almost mindless and passes without thought or regard or concern. Toilet paper is one of these things.
Scott toilet paper is the best toilet paper made. My family and I have used it exclusively for over 40 years. I have never considered changing brands before, however, this tubeless design has me thinking about it. Luckily, I can still find the tube version in most stores; but, if the day comes when Kimberly-Clark discontinues the tube version of Scott Toilet Paper, I will either find a new brand of toilet tissue with a tube or purchase a bidet.
I can only hope that public outrage and poor sales will relegate this new tubeless toilet tissue roll to the ash heap of ill-conceived corporate ideas. And like "New Coke" and "Pepsi Clear" be but a brief and quickly forgotten chapter in the history of an otherwise excellent product.
If you feel like I do, please contact Kimberly-Clark and let them know that you want them to keep the tube in the TP roll.
