Customer Review: Great Clippers but Buyer Beware!

I love the clippers! I have owned clippers from this company before and purchased sets for my family as gifts. They last for years with regular use on tough nails. The problem is that I received a used set and that is disgusting! I am a regular shopper on this site and place multiple orders per week for all of my retail needs. I will reconsider purchasing cosmetic items from amazon after today. I did receive a prompt refund and customer service was sympathetic to my complaints. I am super freaked out that a pair of nail clippers that have a torn package and yucky stuff (complete with a fuzz or hair) on the clipping blade made it past returns and to my home. This gross oversight is in no way a reflection of the product or it's ability to do a good job so I did not lower my 4 star rating for the product but I will be purchasing the replacement locally.Customer Review: Sharpest Toe Nail Clipper, But They Slip Like Crazy

One would think that with some dimpling on the part where you would press down with your thumb, these would not slip, but I've yet to use them where the "lever" didn't move to left or right or just slip out of my hand. You'd think for this price, it would have been engineered better.
So I "engineered" it better by putting a piece of moleskin on the bottom of the level and the bottom of the clipper, and everything is fine. I would have thought the manufacturers would have thought of this.
Other than that, they're the sharpest toe nail clippers I've had and certainly do the job. As for leaving sharp edges, every pair leaves sharp edges. You can't expect to make one clip and be done.

I have always been disappointed with drug store nail clippers. Even if they work well at first, eventually they do a poor job of cutting nails cleanly. A few years ago, I found a pair of very expensive nail clippers made by a German knife company, and they became my prized possession. Then my kids lost them. I have been looking for a replacement ever since. And now I have found something even better--the Seki Edge nail clippers. Every household should have several of these!! And, the price is reasonable, when you consider that you will have these 10x as long as the drug store clippers. Small things like this can make your life so much easier. This relatively large nail clipper is extremely smooth and accurate in operation. All stainless-steel, brushed-finish (blades are polished). Note the Product Dimensions: 3.5 x 0.8 x 0.6 inches. Designed for someone who prefers to create their own nail-edge curve during the cut, the very sharp blades are only slightly concave -- almost straight. Despite its slightly larger size, this clipper is ideal for travel, and its soild construction keeps it perfectly aligned. This is Japanese industrial design at its peak. Think of a little Samurai sword for your toenails. It really is an extraordinarily well-crafted device, beautifully designed, surgically precise and effective.
And thank good old Amazon for offering it at a reasonable price. I bought it for my 91 year old Mom after her cheapo clipper broke--an odd but wonderful gift for anyone who wishes a glimpse of satori-like perfection in a humble tonsorial device.
