I just used this product for the first time. The paper doesn't stay on the device when wiping. It hangs off of it as the friction of the buttox scrapes the paper off of it. What a huge waste of money. Not only does it not work but the device gets quite messy and needs to be thoroughly washed off. I'm really disappointed.
The device seems quite well made in spite of its shortcomings. It is autoclavable plastic.
I'll try it again next time I go to the bathroom and see if it works any better a second time.
I tried it with toilet paper, didn't work. I then tried it with a half sheet of paper towel securely fastened to the device. Still didn't work.
Edit: Yeah this device is worthless. I have used it several more times and it is not worth buying, especially not at the price I paid for it. I just bought the Ideaworks Longreach Comfort Wipe for $6 (shop around on amazon) and it works wonderfully! The plastic end where the toilet paper goes is rubberized which holds the toilet paper in place when you use it. I found it works best with a damp paper towel (half-sheet folded in half). But toilet paper works fine, too. Good luck!

Comfortable and easy to use hygiene aid helps people who have difficulty bending or limited use of their hands and arms to function independently when using the toilet. Toilet tissue is placed around the angled clamp on the lower portion of the device. After use the tissue is discarded by pressing an easy-to-use release button on the end of the handle. Handle measures 9 3/4" (25 cm). Angled clamp portion measures 5" (12.7 cm). Total length from top to lower tip is 14 3/4" (37.5 cm). Made of sturdy plastic. Autoclavable.
