Customer Review: Haven't used it yet, but here's some science

I noticed a ProNamel product earlier, but it was discontinued before I could purchase it. As far as I can telle, ProNamel contains sodium fluoride (NaF) and potassium nitrate (KNO3) as active ingredients. I suspect that one of the reviewers may have been correct that the FTC or FDA asked GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to back up on the marketing. Doing a little research, I found two scientific articles on the topic:

These are both funded by GSK so they should be looked with caution, but both point to superior mineralization using ProNamel. This is largely because of the fluoride but possibly also because of the potassium nitrate (KNO3) in ProNamel and other desensitizing toothpastes.
Meanwhile, Procter & Gamble (P&G) have another article pointing to lower plaque when using their product ([...]). However, I'm more interested in enamel. Plus the review mentioned above ([...]) says that in this formulation enamel isn't remineralized at all.
I'm buying this. Good luck and remember to use Google Scholar ([...]) and PubMed for learning about these sorts of things.
