I couldn't find my regular dishwasher powder so I picked up
the Seventh Generation to try out. In one week, it took the glaze
off my Noritake salad plates and left msrks on the stainless steel that
I still can't get off. I would love an evironmentally sound product
but like most people, I won't use something that damages recently good
china and utensils.

Seventh Generation's Automatic Dishwasher Powder is great. I love that it cleans our dishes without the harmful addition of bleach. However, the one downside is because it does not have bleach or ammonia if we leave the dishes washed and don't open the door at least a crack all the dishes will smell musty. I think this is a small price to pay for much safer product for my family though.Customer Review: Works just as well as Cascade

I read a lot of the reviews, but decided to try out the dishwasher powder after picking it up from a local store. I was worried about the residue, but we didn't have any film on our product and everything came out clean. The only thing that was a problem was a piece of lettuce was caked onto a spoon. I originally purchased this item because it was safe for the environment. I am accustomed to using Shaklee products but thought I would give Seventh Generation a try. It works WONDERFULLY, especially when you consider that there aren't any harsh abrasives or dioxins doing the cleaning for you. I have not found a single spot on a single dish. I've been using this product for about four or five years. A local store was closing and I was able to buy it rather cheaply. When my supply ran out, I was looking for a deal. I think I found it here.
I like the fact that it doesn't damage the environment - at least, not much. And it works. I've not had problems with 98% of the dishes I've put in the dishwasher.
