Customer Reviews of Seventh Generation Baby Wipes Refills, Chlorine Free and Unscented, 70-Count Packs (Pack of 12) (840 Wipes)Customer Review: Safe, effective, and the best part... no junk in them! Summary: 5 Stars
Okay, so you know how a lot of those commercial brands say "natural" and "sensitive" on them? Well, read the ingredients on the back of a Huggies, Kirkland, Pampers or any other of those brands, and you will see they are the furthest thing from natural for your baby!
Seventh Generation is TRULY ALL NATURAL, with no extra stuff in their products and their wipes are no exception. Our baby has never had any type of diaper rash or irritation. These are a great product, and if you buy them by the case (Amazon.com is the cheapest place I've found them), then you will save a ton of money versus buying them indiivudally.
Also, I would recommend buying the refill pouches over the tubs. They are just as easy to use, and WAY better for the environment because of the simpler packaging. If you really feel you like the convenience of the tub, then I would suggest just buying one tub and then replenishing with the refill packs. I use only the refill packs in the nursery, in the diaper bag, in my diaper caddy, etc. and have found no inconvenience whatsoever with using them in the bag versus the tub. It makes me feel good, knowing I'm conserving all the plastic that would be used for the tubs. Just my two cents :-) Either way, you'll really be pleased with these wipes!
Customer Review: Ineffective and now less for your money Summary: 2 Stars
I bought into the whole "no scents, no chemicals" vibe, and Seventh Generation has some kind of environmentally-friendly, naturally made reputation, but after using these for 6 months I find these wipes aren't up to the task. They are very thin and the texture and surface doesn't really grab the solid stuff when I wipe, so it just feels like I'm moving stuff around on my baby's bottom, but not OFF his bottom. I find I'm using a lot more wipes and I'm really rubbing hard against his skin, and I suspect it's making him reluctant to have his diaper changed. I've tried another well-known brand's non-scented wipes (I've also reviewed them here), they are thicker and even with a gentle wipe they do a better job of removing stuff from the skin.
This was on my subscribe-and-save list, a couple days ago I received an email from Amazon that for the same price, Seventh Generation would now provide 10 fewer wipes per pack, or 120 less per order. That really clinches it, I am no longer getting these, because, to sum up, they are less effective, I end up using a lot more, and now their price advantage has also reduced.
Here's one easy way to make the decision: Would you use thinner, less effective TP on your butt or would you go for the thicker, quilted stuff?
Customer Review: Not As Good Now - Changed Product Summary: 3 Stars
When I first started my subscription for these wipes I did quite a bit of homework to get the wipes we loved and for the best price. So, I started the 6 month delivery subscription & received the 80 count in green plastic wrapper (with leaf). My 2nd 6 month batch arrived today in different packaging (yellow) & are 1/2 inch shorter on one side plus contain only 70, not 80 wipes per package. I compared the two side by side. The newer wipes are not as substantial or 'beefy' as the original ones. They may smell slightly better, but still unscented which is our preference. I know I am not getting as good a deal with these new wipes. I am surprised I could tell so much difference - a bit disappointed in the newer wipes as they may be okay for what I use them for, but my husband likes to take them on the road for his long-hauls and I'm afraid they won't be adequate. They were a 5 star product and Seventh Generation should have only improved them or left them alone instead of reducing the product down for the consumer. I also don't get why I started up my subscription with one product and then was shipped a different product in my second shipment. I will need to cancel this subscription.
Customer Review: Great wipe - changed pkg without consent Summary: 3 Stars
My wife and I love these wipes. So imagine our dismay when the most recent shipment came in (we subscribe) with different packaging and less wipes. I wouldn't be upset except the price didn't change. So now we are getting 120 less wipes (nearly 2 packages less) for the same price. It ends up meaning 0.6 cent increase per wipe or a 15.7% increase in price. Since we order one case of pkgs per month this will turn into a $66 increase of the course of a year. I realize the economy is bad so companies are reducing production but the product price should decrease at least a little accordingly. Poor PR move by a what we have considered a great company. As far as distribution goes, since the original package at the original price is still being sold, I am annoyed with Amazon for changing which product we receive without any notification.
PS just noticed 7th gen also changed the size: per case (12 pkgs) it ends up being a bit under 9000 sq in reduction in the amount of product versus the original pkg. Which means we are getting 176 less wipes (more than 2 pkgs) per order or a 0.8 cent per wipe or 21.2% increase in price. That is a $92 increase per year. OUCH!
Customer Review: We love it. Summary: 5 Stars
When my daughter was little I literally tried every wipe on the market because I wanted to find the best one for her. This was it. Huggies wipes were great but gave her rashes because I think the wipe itself is too rough. Pampers sensitive worked fine but had a really lotiony feeling to them. I wanted my hand and her butt to feel clean once I was done wiping. Plus, you eventually wind up using wipes to clean up their hands and various other things.
That's one of the reasons I like these wipes. They clean well, leave a clean feeling, prevent diaper rash... and now that she's older I can clean her hands with them without worrying about her having her hands in her mouth after.
I actually put them in a pampers tub because I liked how their tubs worked a lot better than the 7th generation tub. So, I buy the refills and put them in the tub I like.
Also, with these refills they don't cost much more than the huggies or pampers so you don't have to feel guilty using a natural wipe. I also like buying in bulk so I don't have to worry about buying more constantly. I just keep the box in her closet and reorder when I get low.
