Customer Reviews of Seventh Generation Baby Wipes Refills, Chlorine Free and Unscented, 70-Count Packs (Pack of 12) (840 Wipes)Customer Review: Great Wipes, poor packaging Summary: 4 Stars
I've been using these wipes on my daughter since her birth 7.5 months ago. The wipes hold up well, have not caused any irritation and I like that they are better for her than some of the others out there. I don't mind paying a bit more for her health and safety, so the price is a non issue for me. The one thing that does bother me is the packaging. I tried putting the refill in one of the hard dispensers, and it just did not work. Instead we use the package as is. My daughter is attracted to the noise the package makes. At times this is good and it will keep her entertained and still. Yet other times it is a curse because no matter what I try, she is going after the wipes and not listening to me at all. The first several boxes we got had a nice size opening on each package, the next few had a much smaller opening, making it harder to get wipes out. I'm interested to see what I get in my next shipment now that the package looks redesigned. What's up with 10 less wipes? I guess it's Seventh Generations way of not increasing the price. These issues are not enough to cause me to look elsewhere.
Customer Review: Bye Bye Diaper Rash! Summary: 5 Stars
I began using the Seventh Generation diapers because they do not contain chlorine bleach. I wanted a diaper that was safe for my baby and a little better for the environment. It made sense to use the wipes, too. The Subscribe & Save program makes it so convenient and affordable to get these great diapers and wipes. The wipes are soft and gentle enough to use on my baby's face for food mess. The diapers even last all night (12 hours) for my 15-month-old - something typical grocery store brands never did. Since we switched to Seventh Generation, he has not had one diaper rash! Now that we have gone chemical-free with Seventh Generation, I am amazed at how badly my son's skin reacts to typical wipes and diapers. My mom has a few name-brand wipes and diapers left and when we used them yesterday, my little guy broke out in red bumps and had serious diaper rash in one hour just from a wet (not dirty) diaper and being cleaned with a regular wipe. If you are looking for a more eco-friendly, chemical-free alternative, the Seventh Generation are great wipes and diapers for a great price.
Customer Review: Disappointed with recent packaging change Summary: 2 Stars
These packages used to come 80 wipes per package. Now they are 70 per package. For a company whose brand touts strong consideration of their decisions on "the next seven generations", this is a decision that is hypocritical.
I would have preferred that they simply raise the price if they needed to. Packing fewer wipes in the same packaging is bad for the environment. When I order a case of this, I am getting 120 less wipes in the same amount of packaging (12 plastic packs and 1 cardboard container box). How is this good for the environment or for future generations?!
They should be putting more wipes in less packaging. Actions speak louder than words. In spite of its "seventh generation" branding, they are sending me a message that their brand more hype than substance.
I am totally sympathetic with their need to raise prices if they need to. But sneaking in an effective price increase by decreasing content in the same amount of packaging is bad.
Although I love their wipes, I am going to switch to another brand.
Customer Review: Great Size for Newborns + SCENTLESS Summary: 5 Stars
I have no idea what the reviewers who say these smell bad are talking about! Maybe they got a bad batch or something? I buy these wipes primarily because they have no scent. I dislike the fake-clean powdery scent of most wipes, especially when combined with a relatively foul odor; the two scents together make the chemicals+poop scent that most people associate with babies. I prefer something that smells... well, like nothing. These wipes are scentless. They also don't seem to contribute to diaper rash because they don't contain as many unnecessary chemicals, which many wipes do.
I personally like the smaller size of the wipes, especially for my newborn, because that's typically all I need for the majority of diapers I change. These wipes also pull out cleanly from the packaging, one at a time, instead of sticking to each other and causing the user to pull out more than needed.
Great wipes. Highly recommended. The people complaining about the scent are baffling... no idea what they're talking about.
Customer Review: New Packaging...New Product??? Summary: 4 Stars
I have been using the Seventh Generation baby wipes for over two years and I love them. I see that Seventh Generation has changed their packaging and I am wondering if they have also changed their product? I may just be over-tired or half crazed since I am constantly dealing with a two year old and a two month old, (I probably am both of those things anyway:-)) I do think these wipes seem a hair thinner than the ones in the former packaging. I will admit the difference is slight and the company probably thought barely noticeable, but since I go through about a case of wipes a month (wiping a lot of butts over here!) I do notice a difference. No real big deal but if you do not seal the flap back on the package, your wipes will DEFINITELY dry out...and fast. I still love the product and it is definitely head and shoulders above the other wipes with chemicals and annoying fragrances. I would still recommend these to anyone who wipes a lot of butts and other body parts like me on a daily...okay hourly basis.
