Customer Reviews of Seventh Generation Baby Wipes Refills, Chlorine Free and Unscented, 70-Count Packs (Pack of 12) (840 Wipes)Customer Review: No more Diaper Rash!! Summary: 4 Stars
My daughter had a non-stop diaper rash about threee weeks after birth. I tried all different kinds of creams thinking they would help. Much to our dismay nothing seemed to work and our poor baby girl suffered with a raw bum for months. One day I got online and did a little research and found that many babies are sensitive to the chlorine that is used in the bleaching process of many products - diapers and wipes in particular. I then researched different brands of chlorine free wipes. I found the Seventh Generation ones at our local Price Chopper and decided to try them to see if they would help. Within 2 days - NO MORE RASH!! The next day I got online and ordered a case from Amazon!! I might also note that I, too, have very sensitive skin, and with every baby I have gotten horrible eczema on my hands from all the wipes - that, too, is much relieved! My only dislike is that the smell is not great - not that I like perfumey smells, but these do have an interesting odor to them.
Customer Review: Very Good Wipe but not perfect Summary: 4 Stars
These were the first "eco" wipes I used and after reading some of the more negative reviews I was a bit nervous.
I have previously used huggies, pampers sensitive and my favorite pampers swipers. I do think that these wipes are good. They aren't too scratchy. They don't tear. They aren't too thin. They get the job done.
I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old both still in diapers so I use them frequently. I absolutley loved the pampers swipers-until I found out they had awful chemicals on them-which made me switch to these.
Compared to Pampers Swipers they are a TINY bit thinner and not quite as soft but they're okay.
I do like them a lot better compared to pampers sensitive, these are more durable.
While not nearly as thick as the huggies, they are quite a bit softer.
4 Stars because I wish they were as soft and thick as the Swipers but to me the trade off is better to avoid the chemicals.
Customer Review: I use these over any other wipe Summary: 5 Stars
Pros: effective, natural ingredients; no diaper rash; unbleached material; thinner than many other brands; not too moist; no added fragrance; good price if you use the Subscribe & Save feature
Cons: thinner than many other brands; not too moist; scent of aloe
Bottom line: I like them more than any other brand I've used, and that would be about 4 others. I only used the others because they were available when I had none or they were free. I prefer these because they're good for my baby, they work, they're affordable, and they're better for the environment than other disposables - priorities in that order. The cons I listed don't actually bother me, but I see how they could bother some people. I like that they're thinner because they're less wet which means less moisture on my baby's skin. Anytime I use these in conjunction with SG's diapers I have not had to deal with diaper rash. Of course, I don't try to save diapers by changing less often.
Customer Review: Dry... don't buy in bulk, they dry up quickly. Summary: 2 Stars
These wipes are a-okay, not great and not terrible. However, there are millions of other wipes that are phenomenally better. I don't know about environmentally safer than other products, anybody can package it that way, but I can tell you that buying these in bulk is a big mistake. They are DRY. Yes, they come out dry, and you have to use several to get the poopoo right off your baby, who... if you leave too much on, will feel uncomfortable and not so clean. Hence, I spent extra time giving him a good wash down or a semi-bath (which ends up being two to three baths a day sometimes!), and that's definitely not any better for the environment, nor for your baby's soft skin. It's just too much of a hassle to use these wipes, and now I got to throw out several boxes of unused dry 7th generation wipes... I hate their products, I really do. If I hadn't received them as a gift for my baby shower, I would demand my money back to the manufacturer... I seriously would.
Customer Review: I like the new formula better than Earth's Best Summary: 4 Stars
Maybe I'm the only one, but I actually like the new wipe formula. They've improved the scent a lot in my opinion, and I also like that the new wipes seem smoother and less abrasive than the old ones.
I recently tried Earth's Best wipes based on all the great reviews, but I'm back to Seventh Generation despite the slightly higher price. Why?
One basic reason: When you pull a Seventh Generation wipe from the container, the next one almost always pops up after it. With Earth's Best, it seemed like I was always having to dig into the package for the next wipe because it hadn't popped up like it was supposed to. It's especially annoying when you're changing a poopy diaper and you have only one hand free.
I agree with others that the Earth's Best wipes have a slightly better scent and texture, but Seventh Generation wins out for ease of use.
Oh, and Amazon's Subscribe & Save price is the best I've found on these!
