Customer Reviews of Seventh Generation Dish Liquid, Free & Clear, 25-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6)Customer Review: No smell and cleans dishes. But where's the squeak? Summary: 4 Stars
To be honest, I wasn't out to save the planet or reduce my carbon footprint, thought that would be nice. I just wanted a dish soap that didn't leave a perfume scent on my hands and on my dishes. I've been using Dawn in various flavors since I started washing dishes because I was skeptical that any of the alternatives could clean as well. And, they're very expensive.
Finally I got really tired of eating food accompanied by dish soap smell and decided to try Seventh Generation Free & Clear. True to its claim, there is no scent whatsoever. As for cleaning, it does just as good a job, though it's a bit disconcerting to not have the usual squeaky clean signal glassware. The glasses are just as clean, they just don't squeak. I'm wondering if Dawn et al put in some extra chemical that creates the squeak.
Customer Review: This stuff is horrible! Summary: 1 Stars
This stuff is horrible! If it's supposed to be "earth friendly, it certainly isn't people friendly! Ever since they changed their formula, I can't use it without wearing rubber gloves, otherwise I get terrible cracked, bleeding skin and my nails start to break. It completely strips all the oil out of your skin, leaving it extremely dry.
My experience is the same as this one posted...
"This used to be an excellent product. It was gentle and plant-based. The formula was changed. It is now harsh on the skin. It caused my hands to crack open and bleed and a rash spread up my arms. I notified the company about this, but got the usual "song and dance". Also, they changed the bottle cap. Now it clogs up with some kind of hard stuff which I couldn't even dig out."
Customer Review: Nice Eco-Alternative Summary: 3 Stars
It's a nice eco-friendly alternative to chemical liquid soaps and gentle on hands. However, I wish it were more tough on grease and food smells. The one I purchased at my local store only had the Fresh & Clear (unscented)so I never got to try the scented ones. It wasn't as tough on grease and food odors from my tupperware as I hoped and would sometimes leave a clear residue or speckles on glassware. The bottle goes a long way and I found I didn't use or need as much to clean dishes (unless greasy or to get rid of odor). After my first purchase I decided to try a different brand called Biokleen (since my store only has Fresh & Clear)and am happy with the results and will be using it instead.
Customer Review: Great detergent and great price! Summary: 5 Stars
I could not be more pleased with this detergent. It is gentle enough to use with my very sensitive skin and has only a fresh, clean scent with no detectable fragrance. It rinses easily and thoroughly and gets the dishes perfectly clean with little effort. Best of all, the company is socially responsible; not only is the product environmentally friendly (plant-based, biodegradable), but it is not tested on animals. With the "Subscribe & Save" feature, Amazon's price is more than $1.00 less PER BOTTLE than the lowest prices I've found at local stores and you can't be the convenience of having it delivered to your home, especially when the shipping is free! Love it!
Customer Review: great dishsoap! environmentally friendly! Summary: 5 Stars
once I discovered all the chemicals in everything, I tried this product, in the free and clear. Absolutely love it! lots of suds, does fantastic job cleaning everything; with the subscribe and save I save more than I can get it at locally; and don't have to run to the store when it is pouring rain, snow, sleet, hail or wind out!
Highly recommend to any and all; only wish it could come in a biodegradeable container; like one made from industrial hemp; but until we get a gov that is not all self interest with their interest in chemicals and petroleum, and canola which is now replacing the petroleum: we have to make due with it I guess!
