Customer Review: Clean and Soft
Summary: 5 Stars

Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent, Baby / B000C7UXNK

I absolutely adore this laundry detergent. Despite my best efforts, I run about a load of laundry a day - the cats are always spilling something over, or the new puppy has an accident, or lunch results in sticky apple caramel dip on my nice blouse. This detergent is about as non-abrasive as they come - my clothes and the puppy rags are holding up admirably, even in the face of all these washings. And the detergent is so soft that I've stopped using dryer sheets - my clothes come out soft and gentle without them.

I don't really measure out how many loads I get per bottle, but it's quite a few - it takes me at least a month to work through a bottle, even with doing laundry every day. Even if it didn't last "40 loads", however, I still would never switch, just because this detergent is so gentle on my clothes and my skin, and I don't have any allergic reactions to it.

Customer Review: LEAKS!!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

First off--I want to make it clear that I think this is a 5 star product which I highly recommend. I gave a 1 star rating because I want to warn others not to purchase this item through amazon. I saw that others had received damaged shipments of leaking bottles but I ordered this product anyway hoping that the problem had been resolved. The shipment arrived in two boxes--one smaller box surrounded by packing materials placed in a larger box. Despite this excessive packaging, one of the bottles was split right down the middle. I didn't notice the problem initially, only today when I went to get a new bottle did I notice that the bottle had leaked all over my cabinet. Trust me, whatever you save purchasing in bulk through amazon is not worth the hassle of cleaning up a huge mess and then having to deal with amazon to try to get some sort of compensation for the defective merchandise.

Customer Review: Sometimes a little extra effort is worth it...
Summary: 5 Stars

I found the Seventh Generation products a few months ago at my local grocery store and have been trying out each product individually. This detergent cleans just as well as other overpriced baby detergents and I feel much safer using it on my child as well as the infants I take care of daily. Yes, some of the stains children manage to create are difficult and detergent alone does not work well. I came across this same issue with the other detergent also. I just use a little baby-friendly stain remover as I did before and see the same result. Except now, I have piece of mind that I am not only dressing the little ones in clean clothes but am also helping to ensure they can grow up and learn to wash their own clothes in a healthier environment. (As Seventh Generation's slogan states.)

Customer Review: I really like 7th generation products, but...
Summary: 4 Stars

I really like seventh generation products, but ordering online for mail/UPS delivery can be a problem. I had a whole shipment that arrived sticky, gooey, awful because some of the items had leaked in transit. Buy these products at your local Whole Foods or similar retail outlet. The price is not much different and they will arrive home in better condition. (Note, Amazon.com did refund all of my money when I complained, although I had to push for the full refund. I was initially offered a 20% refund, which was totally unacceptable.)

Customer Review: clothes smell clean, but are dingy and faded
Summary: 2 Stars

I bout this at a store, trying to be more eco-friendly and it was a bit cheaper. My main concern was will it even clean the clothes. They came out seeming clean and fresh, but I felt like the whites and things with white on them got even MORE dingy in the wash, and the black and brightly colored things came out sort of looking faded and dull. They only had a big bottle where I bought it, but I'm going to take it back because I don't want to dingify any more of my clothes.
