Customer Review: Best organic laundry powder yet.

I have been trying various organic washing powders for years. Even before organic was a household word. Some were pretty forgettable. I took a chance on Seventh Generation products figuring there must have been some improvement by now. Bingo, I won. Great product. The first box I bought wasn't HE for my front loader but I used it anyway and results were excellent. The next box I bought was the HE and it is just as good with fewer suds. I have the best ever wash. So good that I hang the clothes on the line here in sunny Arizona. I am so pleased that I am finally off petroleum based washing products. I have never heard that oxygen bleach is any problem to the environment. I don't have to buy it seperately. My front loader washer takes 2 tbsp of powder for a full load so this product is very economical. I also invested in a water softener when I moved to Arizona years ago. It was a necessity. So I'll tell one and all "try it, you'll like it".Customer Review: Seventh Generation labeling is incorrect....And (Amazon) bad service.

When I ordered this product from Amazon.com I recieved the citrus scented ones instead of the free & clear. I have requested to reship the correct item but again they have shipped out the citrus scented. When I called in the third time they told me to return the two boxes for a refund and wait an unknown amount of time to reorder...When I ask when should I reorder they could not tell me a specific time or date. They just said go somewhere else to reorder....Can you believe this.....!!!!!!
When I looked at the original boxes from Seventh Generation there were no mark or labeling the different types of detergents. I really do not know how these guys ship out the correct ones. Amazon is cheaper but you'll have a big head ache when you recieve the wrong product everytime. Can they just open on side of the box and check if it is the correct package...????? They are killing themselves with shipping cost...so ignorant...

We bought the 4-box pack about almost exactly 1 year ago and now I need to reorder. We are a family of 3 who uses cloth diapers, so I needed a detergent that we could wash the entire family's clothing in plus the diapers. I only use about 2 tablespoons per wash (about half the recommended amount for a medium load), and I don't have any problems with it dissolving or not rinsing out. I have hard water and we wash our clothes in warm water with a cold rinse. And my clothes come out clean. I can't believe this stuff lasted for a year since we do a ton of laundry.
There aren't any optical brighteners so some clothes do tend to look faded but I try not to put these items through the drier to prolong their lives. But I don't *want* optical brighteners, so that's fine. This detergent also doesn't wash out oil stains (like olive oil, or reddi-whip stuff), but I am not sure if any detergent does.

Seventh Generation was a leader in non-petroleum based, non- toxic laundry soaps/detergents, and still has one the best products available. The unscented smells
like sunshine dried clothes; the scented one, light and attractive, not harshly repellant like so many strongly and toxically perfumed commercial ones.
My local supermarket stopped carrying this brand after many years. To get it tax and
shipping free was a boon. The four boxes will last about 2 years for a single person!
With the dollar dropping, and our economy nose diving, it's not a bad idea to stock up! I hope it benefits you, your clothes (they last longer without detergent build-up)your skin and your water supply.

I actually like this product ...it does get your clothes clean without all the nasty chemicals which is a bonus because we tried many all natural brands and trust me their is a ton of them out there that do not work!! BUT if you buy the powder and have hard water make darn sure you dissolve all of the detergent before putting your clothes in the washer or you will be very unhappy with the white "STAINS" on your clothes and NO it does no come out. We have 3 boxes of this detergent left and I am happy to take the time to dissolve it but we are going to start getting the Seventh generation liquid detergent to save a bit of time!
