Customer Reviews of Seventh Generation Paper Towels, Natural, 2-Ply Sheets (Pack of 30)

Customer Review: The Best Paper Towels
Summary: 5 Stars

As far as I'm concerned, these are about the best paper towels you can buy! One reviewer noted that you get a lot of paper towels and they last a long time. In my opinion, that's a huge plus. I think it is very convenient to have them shipped to your home and have them on hand. I NEVER run out of paper towels. As far as their intended purpose, I think they work wonderfully. No, they aren't soft, fuzzy, quilted, bleached, or have colored designs on them; nor do they smell like anything artificial. I don't think consumers realize how many chemicals go into a product like Bounty. If you use them to warm up food in the microwave, I think you are less likely to infuse your food with chemicals as with a mainstream product. With seven rescue dogs in the house, I use them for all sorts of nasty clean-up jobs and find them very adequate. I find they work well for cleaning mirrors and appliances as well. It makes me happy to have an alternative to what the rest of the world is using. I think different is good! If you really want to be environmentally minded, keep a stash of old bath towels, wash rags and hand towels on hand. Use them in place of the paper towels. I save the paper towels for finish work in cleaning and for clean-up jobs that are too nasty to put into my washing machine (yes, they do exist)! If you are chemically sensitive or have allergies, I would highly recommend you try this product!

Customer Review: Would have been 5 star except for the shipping
Summary: 3 Stars

First I want to say that I think that products that are recycled or environmentally safe deserve a five star review no matter what. I do have issue with the way seventh generation sends out its products. I recieved a 30 pack of paper towels that looked as if it had been used as a tackling dummy. Now, having said that, they are just towels and I don't really care no damage done. On reading other reviews I have noticed that others report the same condition for some of thier packaging as well. As I said before, with towels no big deal, liquid soaps and detergents are another matter. If we're trying to globally cut down on waste then either better packaging or a more gental carrier service is needed since if you get a case of six bottles of detergent and two or three are crushed or have a hole in them stuff is obviously wasted and yet another replacement package needs to go out that may suffer the same fate. I realize that to keep costs down this shipping is what it is, but with so many people now seeing the advantages of going "Green" shouldn't consideration now be thrown into safe delivery of our eco friendly products? Maybe I'm just whistling in the wind but at some point there has to be a better way!

Customer Review: A MUST HAVE! Healthier for the environment and you.
Summary: 5 Stars

I highly recommend this item to anyone concerned with the environment. I initially ordered them because of the number of paper towels we use in the care and cleaning of the snakes we raise. I love the fact that they are made using 100% recycled paper. The towels are also free of dyes, inks, fragrances and they are unbleached! These qualities are great for our snakes because reptiles are sensitive to bleach and dyes. Thanks to the "green" qualities of this product I feel that my reptiles are healthier as a result of my using them. These same qualities make them safer for use around children as well. I have also found that they are just as strong and hold up as well or better than the paper towels I formerly used in cleaning around the house. I will never go back to the name brand "pretty" paper towels. Function, safety and cost are the main criteria behind my purchases and these meet (and in some cases exceed) those concerns. Just give them a try, you will not regret it.

Customer Review: Not as thick or strong as the White version
Summary: 2 Stars

I tried both the bleached white and the brown natural versions of these towels and I BY FAR prefer the white; not because of the color, but because you get more for your money.
The white towels are not as soft feeling as your grocery store preferred brands. They actually feel rather rough; but they are quite strong and lint free. Both versions are the same size towel, about 1/3rd smaller than your standard papertowel. The brown version feels much thinner and is not nearly as strong. I can't even dry my hands with one towel, they rip to pieces. On both, the perforations are not cut very well and it's nearly impossible to tear off a single sheet, especially the white. I can use the white towel and hang it on my kitchen faucet to dry and use it again; not so with the brown version. The brown towels are in pieces after drying one coffee cup.
I wish they would tear off the roll easier but I'd buy the white towel again, but I wouldn't buy the brown natural towel.

Customer Review: I like em'
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading several reviews about paper towels that used recycled paper, I was hesitant to make the switch from Bounty to a natural brand. I first tried the white Seventh Generation paper towels and was disappointed. The paper seemed to disintegrate when it came into contact with water. I didn't have much hope for the the unbleached version, but was pleasantly surprised to learn that the product is a little stronger. Yes, the paper is rough, but not like the cheap paper towels in restrooms. No, it's not as absorbent as Bounty, but it is more absorbent than generic brands. You may not be able to scrub the counter with these paper towels or suspend items with it, but you will be able to wipe your hands and mouth during meals, or dampen the towels to cover food to be heated in the microwave. You can even clean up light spills and wipe down mirrors. For heavier jobs, use a dish towel and save a tree. It's not always convenient when going green.
