Customer Reviews of SinuCleanse Nasal Wash System, Plastic Neti Pot With Salt PacketsCustomer Review: Wahooo! Shove It Up My Nose...It works! Summary: 5 Stars
Well, now when my daughter told me how great it worked for her, I was skeptical, but she convinced me to purchase this little nose strangler, mouth suffocater and eye waterer. I went to several local pharmacies and other stores but they were unable to keep it stocked. What did I do? Go to Amazon...where else?
I got it several days later and tried it. Was I prepared for the outcome? NO! What the most trying thing is to breathe through your mouth...sounding like a drowning cat wallering in mud...while yuck travels like the speed of light through one side of your nostril and out the other.
However, my eyes watered, but I continued, and I spit and sputtered while mastering the breathing technique. Whatever you do, don't swallow the salty stuff...it will gag you to death...or, let's just say, it did me!
By gum, it worked and now it has become a daily ritual for me. I am here to tell you, I have never breathed so well in all my life. If you make one investment in alleviating sinus problems and breathing difficulties...buy this product.
It comes with many pouches of saline solution but please follow the instructions. It tells you to use a half packet the first time, and that is what I did with almost warm water. If you have inflamed nostrils from continued conjestion, don't use a full packet of saline solution. It will burn the delicate tissues inside the nose, and the taste will linger in your mouth, and odor in the nasal cavities.
As I said, this product is worth the money.
Customer Review: Don't buy, this a simple mix of salt and baking soda! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this product in the local convenience store without reading carefully the list of ingredients. In the box there is a little pot, which in fact is really cheap looking (not like on the picture) and is very inconvenient to use. You can buy a pot like this for less than a dollar in the Dollar Store. But that was not the biggest surprise. Guess what is those little packets that they claim to be "physician developed", "patent pending". Just a regular salt and baking soda mix!!! That's right, Sodium Bicarbonate and Sodium Chloride! So, today I discovered that the remedy which is known for centuries has been developed by the physician Diane Heatley M.D. with "patent pending". Are you laughing with me? If so, save your money, mix some salt and baking soda with warm water to get the exact same product. Also, on the box it says "#1 selling neti pot" and then a small print "source: IRI-Total U.S. Drug". I searched on Google, but of course did not find anything about this "IRI-Total U.S. Drug".

"The irrigating solution can be made by adding two to three heaping teaspoons of non-iodized (does not sting) salt to one pint of room temperature water. It is best to use Morton Coarse Kosher Salt or Springfield plain salt because table salt may have unwanted additives. To this solution, add one teaspoon of baking soda."
Just mix some salt and soda! You will get a better product for the fraction of the price!
Customer Review: Do NOT use this if you have ear problems!! Summary: 1 Stars
I had a bad sinus infection and ear infection and decided to try this Neti pot after reading so many wonderful reviews. BAD IDEA! I used the product as directed in the instructions, and I even watched a couple of videos online to see exactly how to use it. After using it and blowing my nose afterwards, I ended up with fluid and mucus behind BOTH eardrums! I went to my doctor the very next morning, and he said he's never seen my ears look this bad. In fact, there is so much water in one of my ears that my ear canal is bulging from the pressure. There was absolutely no warning about this on the packaging. I'll offer three warnings for those reading this: 1) DO NOT blow your nose very hard after using the Neti pot - this will blow mucus/fluid into your ears, 2) DO NOT tilt your head too far to the side while using the product so that water runs into your ear canal, and 3) DO NOT try and swallow (even slightly) while using the product - this, too, can cause fluid to run into your ears. My sinuses did feel better after using it, but since it has caused MAJOR ear problems for me now (my ears take forever to drain and are prone to ongoing infections when exposed to water), I had to give it only one star. I would have rated it more highly if the product had included a warning about these things on the box. To me, this is nothing less than negligence and carelessness on the part of the manufacturer. I am beyond disappointed.
Customer Review: The gunk will come OUT Summary: 5 Stars
I had the sinus infection from hell, and I made the mistake of taking Afrin. I ended up with rebound congestion, which was worse than the infection itself. It was like someone had poured cement into my sinuses, 100% blocked, nothing moving, no relief in sight. I tried every over the counter pill and spray out there. It was in a moment of supreme desperation that I grabbed the sinu-cleanse (which is a plastic neti pot) off the drug store shelf and stumbled to the checkout, my last best hope cradled in my arms.
AND IT WORKED! In less than three hours (I cleansed twice in that time), I was breathing again. I was beyond belief.
So it seems gross and painful, but it is NOT. It's gentle, and easy, and now I use it all the time. Since I started, I have hardly been ill, and sinus infections are a thing of the past. As soon as I feel some congestion, I neti, and then it goes away. Also, it's good to neti before you take an airplane, and neti when you arrive at your destination. Salt is an antiseptic for skin and mucus membranes, so it will help keep those hideous germs spewed by the guy in seat 32A at bay.
So use this. You will feel better. You will tell all your friends and family to use it, just like I did. Even my 10 year old niece loves it. You could always get the fancy ceramic version, which is much prettier, but if you are a bit "bull in the china shop" like me, then go for the plastic.
Customer Review: Worth every penny Summary: 5 Stars
I rarely write reviews but couldn't miss the chance to champion this product. Over a year ago a natural health practitioner had told me to try a neti pot for my terrible allergies and chronic sinus problems, but I thought it was just one of those New Age fads or something. In the last few years my allergies have gotten so bad that I can only breathe through my mouth most of the time. I decided today to give this a try. I can see it's going to take some getting used to, but after only two washes I can't believe the difference. I can completely inhale through my nose for the first time in months, if not years. Not to gross anyone out, but the amount of crud that was washed out of my sinuses was both amazing and satisfying - proof that it works. I can see why people are raving about this product, it accomplished in one day what antihistamines, drops, breathing strips etc. have not done for me in years, and without ANY side effects or risks. Already I feel so much more energetic, that's because I'm finally getting the full benefit of oxygen! It is a tad uncomfy I'll admit, rather like the sensation of accidentally inhaling water in your nose in the pool. Then for awhile afterwards, the nose and sinuses are still draining so you need to keep a tissue handy. Small inconvenience for the luxury of air. Those who have chronically stuffy noses know what I mean.
