Customer Reviews of SinuCleanse Nasal Wash System, Plastic Neti Pot With Salt Packets

Customer Review: Poor results for me
Summary: 1 Stars

I'm nasally congested most of the time. I was hoping that this would help relieve some of the congestion (and praying that it might be some sort of miracle treatment that would relieve ALL of the congestion).

As soon as it arrived I read the instructions, tested it, and was surprised at how comfortable it was (although still a little awkward). It took a moment, but then just like in the videos I had watched, the water started pouring right through, though not flowing as much as I had seen in said videos. For the first few minutes after finishing, I felt pretty good. I was clear in both nostrils and could breath. But after a few minutes, I went back to being congested and it was even worse than before. And now rather than just being congested, I had a runny nose to boot.

I followed instructions and made many more attempts over the next few months, but most of the time I can't even get it to flow through my nose. Even if I have an open passageway before using it, my passageway will get blocked after a few seconds of use, and just as before, I walk away worse than how I started.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I'm following as instructed. I see that many other people here are getting good results, so I hate giving it only one star, but I just figured I'd let everyone know my experience.

Customer Review: Allergy Relief!!

SinuCleanse Nasal Wash System, Unbreakable Neti Pot With Salt Packets
Heard about this in my local paper who referred to segment with Dr Oz on Oprah in regards to use of the Neti pot with seasonal allergies. I normally take oral medications in conjunction with my Flonase nasal spray. I have been able to cut back on the use of these medications significantly since starting using the Neti pot every day, sometimes 2 times per day depending on my symptoms. I recently went to the mountains for winter sports where there was the dry heated air then the very crisp winter air/snow. Everyone was having problems with their sinuses and bloody noses. I did not which I attribute to keeping my sinuses moist w/use of the neti pot. It took some adjustments initially since doing the irrigations feels like getting water up your nose while swimming. Now I have incorporated it into my evening routine. I use the packets when travelling. Otherwise I make my own saline mix using kosher sea salt with baking soda. Try the neti pot if you would like a more natural treatment for your allergies. There are no side effects from this treatment, unlike the side effects from those sinus medications!

Customer Review: very effective and must have for many people!

I feel like I'm the only person who finds putting water up your nose seems counter intuitive?!

Had a recent sinus infection, doc told me to do sinus washes to avoid having to over medicate me. I HATE SINUS WASHES. But this did the job, with luke warm(70 degree) water helped reduce swelling and irritation in sinuses.

For starters I used half the 'solution' packet, not to over shock my sinuses.
The kit comes with a small spoon to assist in mixing in if needed.
There are a lot of packets of the solution so you should be set for a while.

BREATHE THROUGH YOUR MOUTH WHILE IRRIGATING OR YOU WILL BE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. This is not emphasized clearly enough I feel. Keep your mouth open, breathe regularly and you can even dry swallow if you have the urge just do not change head positions to do so. Water will go into your throat uncomfortably or your Eustachian tubes and it's just no fun. I would highly suggest a full 'dose' in each direction/nostril. To evenly clean out it's almost necessary.

Again I hate putting water in my sinuses but to help with allergies, sinus infection swelling, irritation ect. Sinus rinses help and this product does a very fine job of facilitating it.

Customer Review: Uncomfortable even after a week...
Summary: 3 Stars

I've always had allergies and for the past few years haven't felt like I can breathe well through my nose so I thought I'd try this. The netipot in the box doesn't look like the one on the picture - AND the logo of sinucleanse that is supposed to be on the pot isn't there. The instructions say to put water up to the logo, so I don't exactly know how much water to put into this thing.

When you put the pot down flat with water in it - water comes out the spigot (even when it's not full).

Also the spigot it quite big for my nostrils - I have to literally shove it in and it hurts, and I don't have abnormally small nostrils either...

Either way - I haven't been able to use this product successfully without water going down my throat even when I follow the directions to a tee included on the box. It has helped clear my nose a bit - I can feel myself breathing better but I feel like I have water in my lungs so that kind of negates the positive breathing feeling when your chest hurts.

I will keep trying to use it - because I find that people online often include different tips on how to use it etc...so I'll try it a few more times to see how it goes.

Customer Review: Life changer!
Summary: 5 Stars

This product has changed my life. I am a school teacher and have taught school for ten years. When I was just a rookie teacher with a weak immune system, I would get sick at least 8-10 times a year. Now that my immune system has been built up, I still catch about 5-6 colds each year. Schools are loaded with all the most current germs and viruses. Since I have started using this sinus rinse system, I have only had 1 cold. The cold I currently have is not very severe, either. I have not had a stopped up nose or severe drainage and I am into the third day already. I feel like it has a lot to do with the nasal rinses. I know that there probably have not been too many studies done to back up my theory. But from personal experience, I feel this product not only helps to prevent illness, but makes having an illness more bearable. I usually only rinse once a day, but have been rinsing twice daily since contracting my current cold. My theory is that it will shorten the duration of the cold. I am not sure yet, but this seems to be the weakest cold that I have ever had in my life. This is a great product and I would highly recommend using it everyone who has a nose and sinuses, whether you have trouble or not!
