Unless they practice yoga (like me) or are otherwise familiar with Eastern medicine, most people have never heard of a neti pot. Although it may sound a bit bizarre, it's very simple actually: the neti pot is a small device (shaped sort of like a tiny watering can) that is used to flush out the nostrils (with the assistance of saline solution). The result is improved respiratory health, and it is especially beneficial to those with sinus problems, allergy sufferers, or even anyone experiencing the common cold.
Using the neti pot is not particularly pleasant, and it takes a bit of practice to avoid that water-up-the-nose sensation. However, the results are worth it. Although I've never had any serious sinus issues, I do have mild nasal allergies, and I've definitely found using the SinuCleanse system to be helpful when my breath has become more congested. Similarly, I found that the neti pot was virtually my only source of relief when I experienced a severe cold this past winter. The SinuCleanse Neti Pot System is durable, easy-to-use, and effective; definitely recommended.

It's just a piece of plastic and several packets of kosher salt. I saw it in The New York Times (and it mentioned Oprah, of course) and was curious but not curious enough. Then my co-worker got one and encouraged me to get one, too. I have had terrible allergies for the month of April since I was a tiny tot- spring nosebleeds, runny nose, 20 consecutive sneezes, the whole deal. I use off-brand Claritin, which helps but leaves my sinuses extremely dry and painful. I had my co-worker present as I tried it out. She gave me great advice- KEEP EXHALING THROUGH YOUR MOUTH IN SHORT SMALL BURSTS SO THAT YOU ARE NEVER TEMPTED TO INHALE WHILE THE SOLUTION IS GOING THROUGH YOUR NASAL PASSAGES. I had a smooth time of it. Be sure to mix the solution really well because otherwise the last drops of the solution will sting a lot. After you are done, wait before blowing your nose. Let the salt settle in and do its magic. Then blow gently. It's not a cure-all, for sure, but it does help immensely with any pressure, buildup, etc. I'm definitely doing this twice a day until my spring allergies die down.Customer Review: It works

I am new to sinus problems. In fact, so much that it was hard for me to pinpoint what was wrong with me. My sinuses have been draining and I can feel it when I lay on my back. Very uncomfortable! Today I was on the elliptical at the gym and the left side of my nose area started burning really bad then it's like as if it broke free and that side started running like crazy. I didn't know if I was having a nose bleed or what! I came home miserable and remembered I got the Neti pot after seeing that episode of Oprah for a "just in case situation." I dug it out, used it, decided it was very easy and was rewarded with 2 tissues full of stuff. Funny thing is, my nose wasn't even the slightest stuffy before I used it so guess what? It ALL came from my sinuses. I will dig this out from now on that the slightest onset of irritation it helped so much. I used half a packet of solution mix with each side. If you get this, don't be like me and put it away for 2 yrs before using it lol. Its awesome and I didn't drown!
