Customer Review: Feels funny but works well

I live in the allergy-ridden area of Central Texas and bought this product after much hype as well as personal recommendations. The product works very well. I like the fact that I can use it as much or little as I need to.
When I first received the product, I felt a cold coming on over that weekend. I used it three times over the weekend and the cold symptoms went away!
My biggest wish is that the product came with more elaborate instructions. Thankfully, my sister (who has used the product before) was there to walk me through it. She gave me some of the best advice: whatever you do, do not swallow while the solution is draining through your nasal passages! The instructions do have some illustrations, but it would greatly benefit from some tips like the one above and "It will feel very weird."
I highly recommend this product to anyone who suffers from severe or even slight allergy/nasal symptoms. It's quite nice to have an alternative to medication.

Most people reading this are bound to be curious as to what exactly this is / does. I know I was. Basically, you pour a saline solution up one nostril which (if you keep breathing through your mouth -- a mistake I made only once!) will come out of the other nostril, irrigating and cleaning it of most irritants and other things. It's very good for allergies, colds, and anything that has to do with the nasal passages.
The first time I used this, honestly, I felt like an idiot with salt water coming out of my nose. Now, after a few tries, it's second nature and relieves me of most of my sinus problems including allergies.
This is a good neti pot since it is dishwasher safe and tough to break, but you might want to consider making your own solution once the packets are used up-- just make sure you use non-iodized salt (there are good recipes for solution available on the web -- just google "neti pot solution").
Use and enjoy breathing better!

I bought this product out of desperation. I suffered from chronic sinus infections for years, and it got to the point where I was in constant pain and could not get through the day without a nap. Medications didn't help me at all.
I was a bit hesitant to use it because I was worried that it would hurt and/or add to my constant nosebleeds. It did neither.
After the first use, I could breathe through my nose again. After using it for a few days, I didn't need to take naps to make it through a day. After a week, I was totally free of pain and feeling great. It is AMAZING.
The first time you use it is very strange, but after that it becomes natural. I found that if I tilt my head down so that it is almost parallel with the ground I get some ear pain when using it, but keeping my head up more as it suggests in the instructions prevents this.
If you are considering it, it is a cheap option that is definitely worth trying.

I always thought this idea was a little gross, plus, since I am one of those people who nearly drowns myself in a few inches of water, I was understandably skeptical. But I continued to watch YouTube videos, read as much as I could, and after suffering through some pretty nasty post-nasal drip during my latest cold, I thought, "What could it hurt?" So I purchased one, read the directions, took a deep breath against drowning (lol), and tipped the pot into my nose.
No burning. No sense of drowning or gagging. One word: soothing. I was actually startled when the water started pouring out of my other nostril. I felt a difference almost immediately, and eagerly cleaned out the other side. My nasal passages were so clean that I could take a deep breath down to my toes - a wonderful feeling for someone who lives with antihistamines on a daily basis! So don't wonder anymore. Get one of these babies and start feeling good again!

I've had this product for two months now. At first, I just tried it once, found it unpleasant, and put it away without really giving it much of a chance.
To my surprise, a few weeks later when I went to my allergist to beg for some sinus relief, the Neti Pot was #1 on his list of suggestions for controlling sinus issues (along with a regimen of decongestants and nose sprays, naturally).
I admit, I was totally shocked that a doctor had just suggested the Neti Pot, considering I'd already dismissed it as hippie junk. I gave it a few more tries and started to get the hang of it, and now I'm a total zealot. This thing is magic! I honestly don't even know what I'd do without it, at this point. I certainly wouldn't be breathing so well through my nose.
Try it, and if you don't like it at first, keep trying! And keep your head tilted forward! You will not be disappointed, once you get the hang of it.
