This device works great. It cleans out my sinuses really well. Don't know if it is a coincidence, but I have had no seasonal sneezing, runny nose or watery eyes since I started using this item three weeks ago.
The pre-mixed packets of powder that must be used will be an expensive longterm proposition. I tried salt as suggested in other reviews, and found it didn't work as well.
If you buy one you may find it leaks around the knozzle from the nostril you insert it in. I have cured this by rolling a rubber band several times around the knozzle. It seals the nostril/knozzle joint.

According to Wikipedia: "Nasal irrigation is an ancient Ayurvedic technique known as Jala neti, which literally means nasal cleansing with water in Sanskrit, where the practitioner uses a neti pot to perform the irrigation." So this concept is not some new hype by advertisers.
I bought this system after suffering the flu for a week and then developing a sinus infection. The doc put me on antibiotics and Pseudoephedrine. While these drugs work, they really did nothing to curb my current symptoms of nasal congestion and swollen nasal membranes - the most fatiguing part of suffering a sinus infection. I had already used an OTC nasal spray for 4 days and did not want to continue for fear of rebound congestion. A friend at work mentioned the Neti pot, so I picked one up after work one night. What a relief from the first time I used it! It's not as weird to use as some may say; the feeling is actually warm and soothing, the technique only takes one or two tries to perfect.
The concept is sound: since sinus infections are usually caused by bacteria that get caught up in the slow-moving mucus of the sinuses and begin to multiply. The Neti concept rushes warm saline (alkaline) water through the nasal passages and sinuses, stimulating the mucus that is trapped and stagnating to move out. The salt changes the chemistry of the nasal passages and sinuses, creating an "unhappy" environment for the bacteria. It also helps to gently reduce swelling and promote better air flow.
Many people use the Neti pot year-round and, as an allergy suffering myself, I intend to use it daily even after the sinus infection is gone!

All the wonderful reviews here should be attributed to the method, and I agree with them 100%. But what should be discussed here is the actual item, and it's just an overpriced piece of junk. I had previously a ceramic pot I bought at Wholefoods. When I opened the SinuCleanse package I got at CVS, my jaw dropped. A thin piece of cheap plastic and a bunch of salt packets for the same price you can get the real thing? I am glad I saved the receipt....This junk goes back to CVS, and I go back to the wholefoods supermarket...
If you are looking for a neti pot at Amazon.com, look for a ceramic pot. It costs the same and it does make a difference.

I am a big believer in neti pots and think they work great. This particular model has a HUGE hole which requires a larger nostril size to use. I was very disappointed and will return for a different type....one with a more pointed end makes much more sense. Having had chronic sinus infections for over a decade, the neti pot has been a great preventative tool for me and also aids in making me much less stuffy on a regular basis. Tho it is all plastic and looks like something you should be able to buy at the dollar store, when combined with the sinucleanse salt packets, it is worth more than its weight in gold to me. If you are stuffed up, try it.
