Customer Review: The only review to truly break it down. PLEASE READ!

OK, Here's the deal: This product should be used like a razor. Don't go swimming after you use it, or go to the beach. Press lightly, and use A LOT of repetition for the best results. For 1 day stubble, It won't work. It works best on 2 to 7 day stubble. Don't use it every night. It doesn't work on underarms or facial hair. Just legs or arms. For never shaved hair, you use it, and then kind of pull the hair off. This is good for touch ups, or those don't-feel-like-taking-a-shower nights. Don't use it while you're wet. I still use a razor, but I use this sometimes. It works best on grown out stubble. Be gentle. AND DON'T USE THE PINK PAD! IT IS JUST A WASTE OF MONEY. IT WORKS WAY BETTER TO JUST USE THE GREY PART ON YOUR HAND. It also exfoliates so a lot of dead skin will come off and smells bad but it doesn't damage and makes you legs REALLY soft. And remember: Practice makes perfect. Don't just give up on the first night.
Also the pads don't last very long at all.

So, to break it down, If you want it, get it for touch-ups, and practice. Not for people with really sensitive skin, because it hurts a little. I just like my Vensus Embrace razor.

Hope this helped,

Customer Review: What a waste

Ok, so when will I learn that infomercials are just another way to get suckers to spend their cash on junk? This is a great example of false advertising. I reluctanly purchased this, after tiring of the frequent razor treatment on my legs this summer. No sooner did I open the packaging and peel and stick the pad on the plastic did I realize I had been had, big time. I read the directions, followed them to a t, and found my legs hair-free for all of ONE DAY, less time than I would be if I had just used my trusty old razor! I'd never use this product anywhere but on calves and legs since you have to rub so hard and for so long that the irritation would most likely be awful anywhere else. From what other reviewers have said, I'm thinking the upper lip is not the place to start off! I promptly packed mine up and got my money back. Funny thing was, the girl who gave me the refund chuckled when I handed it over, saying, "I tried this junk too! It didn't work at all!" So I guess it's back to the tried and true razor, electric or otherwise, at least I know I'll get a close shave which will last longer than the glue on the back of this sticky pad!

Customer Review: This. Does. Not. Work.

How has this product even made it to the shelves?? Who are these people that write those glowing reviews?! I fell for those good reviews and purchased this product with such high hopes, only to quickly find what a waste of money it was. This product does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I tried it on my legs first (of course) following the directions to a "T": Started with clean, completely dry skin, free of any lotions or powders, then gently buffed using a clockwise motion three times, then reversed to a counter-clockwise motion for another three turns. I did this for what must have been three minutes in one spot. The result? Nothing, except a dry, ashy residue - which they claim is the "exfoliated skin" but which is actually the leftover "crystals" from the buffing pad. All of my hair was still there. All of it. Desperate to believe that I wasn't totally bamboozled into buying this worthless product, I even attempted the same procedure on a small section of my arm hair, thinking maybe that my leg hair was too course. The result was exactly the same. Ashy residue and all my hair.

Don't waste you're money!

Smooth away As seen on TV

I was looking forward to getting this product and trying it out, it was a reasonable price and had free shippng and handling.

Upon receiving it I was surprised how (cheap) everything was, the "travel case" is a small vinyl/plastic case with two flaps, both "applicators" are flimsy rubbery things with a handle to slide two or three fingers into. The part that frustrated me the most was the supposed "flex-crystal" pads. People - they are super fine pieces of 3m sand paper. You peel off the back and stick it to the applicator. There are not any crystals, nothing that feels like a crystal, looks like a crystal...
I have fair skin and light colored hair, I followed the directions EXACTLY and I saw nothing. Of course it didn't hurt, because nothg happened and I did not feel any sort "exfoliatation" either.
Sadly, as optimistic as I am, I'm going to have to place it in the rip off bracket. It's not the sellers- they were great. It's the manufactures! Boo to them. They can keep there non-working products in Europe.

Customer Review: Don't knock it 'til you try it.

I rolled my eyes when my mother told me she bought Smooth Away at the local pharmacy. I decided I had nothing better to do and used the large buffer pad on my leg which had long hair. When using the pad, read the instructions - make sure to go clockwise three times and counterclockwise three more times. Using this method and wiping away the "ashiness" afterwards I was met with surprisingly smooth and hairless skin - there is a bit of stubble left but I was thrilled to find that it works! It's too much effort to use on the legs, I think I'll stick with Veet for those, but it's perfect to use on my upper lip and face. I HATE using wax or epilators on my upper lip/sideburns because it hurts but Smooth Away was painless and I've decided on my new hair removal regime: wax and tweezers for the eyebrows, Veet for the legs, and Smooth Away for the upper lip. I give it a 4 because it's too tedious for the legs, plus it makes your skin really ashy and you have to put lotion on afterwards but I'm definitely going to keep it in my purse for those "uh-oh" hair emergencies.
