Customer Reviews of Smooth Awayâ"¢ Hair Removal System - As Seen on TVCustomer Review: WORSE than razor burn Summary: 1 Stars
I was super excited to use a product like this and for the price I figured it couldn't hurt ...right? I couldn't have been more WRONG! First off to fully exfoliate one of my legs it took two of those pads (that's right for a total of four for both legs). It didn't get off all of the hair and it grew back almost immediately. Plus it takes more than twice as long as shaving does for less than half the results.
Then I made the massive mistake of trying it on my underarms. I ended up with an excruciating skin burn. It removed none of the hair but I felt like someone had taken a sand belt there and had to lube it up with A&D ointment before I could put my arm down.
Oh and it didn't even make a dent on my bikini line at all. So that was pointless.
This was a phenomenal waste of time, money and energy. Don't make the same mistake I did.
Customer Review: I can't figure out why people dont love this! Summary: 5 Stars
So i was always really skeptical about smooth away, i mean "magic crystals"? but one day i noticed a friend of mine's arms were really smooth. so i asked if she shaved them and she told me she used smooth away. i was in awe that it actually worked so i went out the next day and bought one. i used it right away on my arms and it was seriously like magic. the hair was just flying off left and right. it leaves a slight layer of dust-type stuff and when you wipe it off its like a babies butt. I really only got it for my arms because i don't mind shaving and using smooth away on my legs would take way too long. but i also use the smaller pad on my upper lip and face, and it leaves that skin smooth and hair free as well. I have really sensitive skin and so i was surprised it worked. but it really did. I would recommend trying it. its only like ten bucks- to me- so worth it.
Customer Review: HORRIBLE PRODUCT! NOT WORTH 1 STAR! Summary: 1 Stars
DON'T RISK BUYING THIS PRODUCT!
The commerical for this prodcut shows a woman using Smooth Away to, I suppose "sand off" her underarm hair, and thats exactly what it felt like on my arms, burning and scraping as if I were using real sandpaper to grind off my hairs. Not only did the prodcut burn my skin but it took off none of the air on my legs and arms. I must also add that I have almost little to no hair on my body, and even then the Smooth Away did nothing to the little hairs I did have!!
I orginall bought this product for my husband since the commerical said it could be used on chest and back hair. All it did was scrape at his skin and grind against his chest hair, leaving no results at all and just matted chest hairs. This product was not worth the $10 I spent. Its terrible and painfull.
DON'T RISK BUYING IT!!!
Customer Review: Buy Sandpaper its Cheaper! Summary: 1 Stars
I've always wanted to try this product ever since I saw the commercial on TV. It already looked too good to be true. The price of the item used to be more expensive so I waited till it got lower. I had already read terrible reviews about the product so I wasn't expecting much. First off I couldn't align the pad to the applicator very well so that was a fail. The instructions tell you to ensure that your hair is no longer than 1/4 inch. Luckily my leg hairs were at that perfect stubble so I began to go at it in circular motions as they said. Yes it did remove some of my hairs, but I had to continuously rub to get them removed. If I were to take sandpaper and rub it on my skin in circular motions the same outcome would've happened. The pad left my legs really dry and white. This product is not worth it, good thing it wasn't expensive.
Customer Review: Not great, but not bad Summary: 3 Stars
I have been using Smooth Away for some months now on my legs, stomach, and mustache. I would say the benefits of it are not having to get in the shower to remove hair, it exfoliates the skin while removing hair, and it's pretty cheap (compared to razors)
I have sensitive skin and I use it on my mustache (I'm not ashamed to say I have one)however yes I do have some stinging afterwards. The next day I'm just fine.
So I guess if you have overly sensitive skin or you have absolutely no pain tolerance for using this on your face, it may not be for you. Overall, I like it.
**By the way, I gave this to my mother for a Xmas gift and used it on one of her legs. She felt the difference. After being skeptical of it due to bad reviews here on Amazon, I think she sees that it does work for some people. :)
