Honestly, I would probably give this a zero if I could. Granted, the product does what it says: the hair does get removed. However, you will spend forever trying to buff away; it's too time consuming. That's the best thing I can say about it.
I bought this solely to try on my underarms, although I used it on my legs as well. This product worked well enough on my leg, but left itching bumps afterward, and my underarms got a nasty friction burn after barely using it.
The product only works on areas that are really tight or can be pulled tight. If it's not tight skin, it's the worst product you could imagine. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Even though it manages to buff away the hair, it takes way longer than it's worth spending AND it irritated my skin even worse than products with chemicals in it.

I have to admit it, I fell for it. I watched a demonstration and the product worked. I thought something on the pad extracted the hair but in actuality all it does is sand your hair down along with a thin layer of skin. I tested it on a small area of skin where I had 1/4 inch hair growth, as directed and continued following the directions. I was pleased with the results. The hair was gone and after adding moisturizer my skin was soft and smooth. The next day I could feel stubble and my skin was a little red and slightly rough to the touch. By day three the hair was visible and sticking up through what I can only refer to as a minor burn, like a carpet burn. It was very red and raised. It took over two weeks with burn ointment to getmy skin back to normal and back to where I just pluck the hairs with tweezers again.Customer Review: Burn your Money Instead

This is the WORST product I've bought in years. Take a match to the money you'll get as much out of that than you would using the product. It didn't remove one single hair, not a one. I don't see how this can be advertised and sold without some consumer group stepping in. It shouldn't be on the market. I usually like my infomercial/TV products having bought and loved George Foreman grill, tap lights, vegetable bags, ped egg, etc. but this is total garbage. No return information was included with the product and I wouldn't want to spend another penny to ship it back but I did email the company asking for a prepaid return label to ship it back. I don't anticipate success with that. Oh and to review this, it wouldn't let me enter no stars, I had to put 1. Us ladies and men as well usually welcome things that save us time on our beauty/skin care routine. That's why I was optimistic about this product and decided to give it a try, like so many others out there. What I found in Smooth Away was a complete waste of time & money. Like many of the other reviewers stated, this product simply does not work. I followed the instructions to a T and buffed for what seemed like forever with little to no results. The only thing that did happen was pretty severe skin irritation and redness. I also experienced a slight burning sensation that wasn't overwhelming but was certainly bothersome enough to discontinue use. I do not recommend this product whatsoever, especially for people who have sensitive skin.

I'm sure it's probably unnecessary for me to review this, seeing as there's already 100+ reviews telling you this product is a waste of money.
Well - it does work. In a way. The directions tell you to rub over your skin in circular motions. If you do this, very, very firmly and swiftly, you may rub down a few lights hairs. You have to press down really hard and move really fast for it to work at all. This will only work for very light, thin hair. Not underarm hair, not your bikini line. Your arms will tire of making these motions, and most of your hair will still be inact.
It's just not worth the effort. Stick with your razor for now, and in the meantime we can wish that one day a product will be invented that will save us from the horrors of razor burn!
