We had tried a number of heating pads, and all required a supplemental moisture source. When I read the description to these pads my first reaction was "Yeah, right!". However, I read the reviews, and I thought I'd give them a try.
We are very pleased with the performance and ease of use of these pads, and they do offer most heat as promised. I would say they are equivalent (if smaller) to the professional heating pads used by therapists without the associated cost. While I can't yet comment on the longevity of the product, we have used them fairly regularly for over a month, and they do not show signs of wear or impending failure.
I highly recommend this product for the heat portion alone, and indeed that is all I can do as we have not used them for cold applications.
