This item has been wonderful for the year it has worked. Perhaps those that need all the bells and whistles to wake up have to suffer the consequences that a bunch of bells and whistles give you more to go wrong. I don't think we've ever had an alarm clock die so quickly - but WOW! It actually woke my husband up for the full year! It was a fantastic purchase. For the Price, it worked just as the Product itself is named. Perfect gift for someone who is deaf and living alone. I love it. I give it a 2 thumbs up + a 5 star rating. I wasn't sure about the product, however, after reading some of the reviews. I gave it a shot and BOOM.

I've owned two of these (one lost in Hurricane Katrina) and this alarm clock will wake me up without fail. I've slept through crying babies, gunshots, being poked; but this always works without fail. Between the ability to have a flashing lights, sound, and vibrator alarm you will wake up without fail.
If you're a light sleeper I wouldn't recomend this.

Maybe I'm just to heavy of a sleeper, but this performed well under my expectations. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because it did come with the vibrator part and the buzzer sound was able to be adjusted by volume and by pitch (low pitch to high pitch). I never tried hooking up a lamp to it, although you could add that too. I just didn't like it all.Customer Review: clock

This is the second of this clock I have bought. I had broken the first one so I had to replace it. I think it great that the hard of hearing and deaf have an alarm clock that will wake them up. Buying it through amazon.com was $20 cheaper than going through the hearing aid company (even with the shipping it was cheaper).
