I have bought this clock to use it in Europe, together with an AC adapter, recommended by the manufacturer (SAE220).
First impression - the clock is HUGE, but on maximum backlight the brightness pulsates noticeably. The possibility to tune the volume and tone is also a big plus.
My dear European fellows - you can't use this product in Europe and elsewhere where the power grid frequency is not 60 Hz! The manufacturer CS rep told this shocking revelation: "The clock uses the incoming line frequency as a base reference." So in Europe the clock will be late, by around 7 minutes per hour!

I read all the reviews and some people said they were not impressed. If that is the case, than they are both deaf and have absolutely no sensitivity to sound and motion! I hope I am never near any of them during an earthquake!
I had been looking for an alarm clock to wake my sheet covering daughter out of her slumber. This alarm is loud and vibrates a lot to wake the soundest of sleepers. And the great thing is - you can adjust both the sound and the intensity of the vibration to fit your needs.
I recommend this alarm wholeheartedly! It will wake you - be warned!!!

Since I bought this alarm clock in December 2008 I have not overslept one day so this alarm clock is a wonder for that purpose. However it is now October 2010 and the buzzing part of the clock has stopped doing its thing. For $45 that's a very bad thing. I've had cheap alarm clocks last 10 years or more so I am disappointed with the lack of longevity of this product. However, since it is the only one that I have not ever slept through I find myself needing to spend ANOTHER $45 for another one. That part of it makes me very unhappy but the clock does do what it promises.Customer Review: Not really sonic, but good!

Calling the clock "Sonic Boom" is a bit overstated, but it is loud and has a vibrator to place under mattress or pillow.
I can't speak for the vibrator, because I haven't used it, but the alarm is adjustable from relatively quiet to very loud. It won't wake the dead, but it certainly wakes the living! The numbers are very large so that even without my glasses I can easily see what time it is.
It's a good clock at a reasonable price. I recommend it to anyone who wants a loud (adjustable) alarm clock and/or very large numbers.

We got this clock for my daughter who just left for college. It is big and bright, but doesn't take up a lot of room because it is so thin. It doesn't tip over because it has a little stand included in the packaging which you insert in the back of the clock. My daughter loves the vibrating disc that goes under her pillow. It definitely jolts her out of bed. The alarm itself is loud and we could hear it down the hall. The sound is adjustable for treble and bass and volume. You can use sound and vibrating disc or just either one. I would recommend this product.
