This thing is amazing.
The buzzer has variable tone, which is a lot cooler than I thought it would be. It is definitely a buzzer: the thing sounds like an ambulance or a fire alarm. My roommates actually thought it was a fire alarm one day when it went off and I wasn't around.
The vibrating function makes me jump out of bed. It pulses and pulses and pulses until you pulls yourself from dreamland.
If you consider yourself someone who likes to be able to wake up, get this puppy.

I have been trying to find an alarm that would wake my son up for years to no avail. Well I'm happy to say that now the search is over! The Sonic Boom clock wakes him up everyday- my only comment against it would be, holy crap is it loud, I hear it going off every morning from the other end of the house. I have no problem with it being so loud but I could see where it could be a problem if you were sharing a bed with someone that had this alarm.

I love this alarm clock, but I've been through two of them now.
The buzzing alarm consistently works, but about a month or two after the warranty expires, the shaking feature stops working and I'm late to work. If you are looking to use this product for more than a year, I'd shop elsewhere. I'm partially deaf and this company is really frustrating.

My husband and I both have sleep disorders and "normal" alarms don't wake us up. We set 5 in the past and usually sleep through them for around 1/2 hour before waking. This alarm wakes me up immediately. I have it on a higher pitch and put the buzzer under my pillow. It's not a pleasant way to wake up (a screeching blare and a shaking pillow), but it definitely wakes you up! I purchased this alarm w/vibrator for my 85 year old mother who is hard of hearing. She is so hard of hearing that she would sleep through 3 alarms going off at the same time--a buzzer, a radio on LOUD & and second alarm buzzer! With this new Sonic Boom Loud Vibrating Alarm Clock, if the buzzer doesn't wake her (and it's pretty loud), the unit's vibrator that is under her mattress pad will wake her for sure. This is a great product!!
