I had trouble the beginning of my sophomore year of college getting up in time for classes. Late nights due to work and leisure time, and early mornings because that's how Service Academies "roll." I had to get the problem fixed, partially with more sleep, but also with a reliable wake up call in the morning.
This alarm clock is VERY loud, and annoying, like a fire alarm in your room. I keep the volume at its highest setting when I use it. The other option, or extra assurance, is the vibrating device. This thing will shake the bed, or make it seem like it is. Not very loud, so can be used to wake you up instead of everyone in the room (or possibly the next), and will get you up without too much trouble, even if you are a deep sleeper. I use this option the most.
I haven't missed a class or formation since I got this, so long as the alarm is properly set, and the snooze button is out of immediate reach. I recommend this to anyone who wants to be sure they get up on time.

I purchased this alarm not for the sonic boom part but for the vibrator alarm. I live with my son and family including grandsons ages 3 and 4. Since I get up for work before anyone else in the family and my room is right across the hall from the children's room, I definitely do not want an alarm clock waking them up. I also have narcolepsy, which causes me to sleep more soundly than most, so it takes me longer to hear and respond to an auditory alarm. The vibrator alarm has been exactly what I needed. Having a snooze factor is great for me, since it takes me a while to get going in the morning. It wakes me without disturbing anyone else and wakes me from my deep level of sleep. I received prompt delivery of my product in good condition and have been very satisfied with all aspects of my purchase. Oh, and in case you want a loud alarm clock....this one definitely is. You can set it for alarm only, vibrator only, or a combination of both. The volume is also adjustable.Customer Review: A Godsend

This clock is amazing. It wakes me up every day and actually gets me up!
I used to have 3 alarm clocks spread out through my entire room and going of at different intervals and sometimes they would work, but a lot of the time I would either sleep through them or unconsciously turn them all off! Not with the Sonic Boom Alarm Clock!
It doesn't just scare you awake, causing a learned reaction of hitting the snooze button, but it slowly rouses you awake, like someone there nudging you till you get out of bed. Perfect.
Had it for little under a month and no once have I overslept. As opposed to oversleeping 3-4 times a week.
Cons: The only cons I have for it are completely aesthetic the display is a tad small and it seems as though the actually clock itself is balancing on about half an inch of contact with the night stand. Haven't had any problems with it yet, but it just makes the device seem a little non-sturdy.

My son is 18 years old and has never once rolled out of bed by himself. I was starting to get concerned that I'd be waking him up for college, which was a role I was sure I didn't sign up for.
On my suggestion, his grandmother bought this clock for his birthday-- he wasn't too impressed. The day after spring break ended, I heard the dogs getting fed, the younger brother getting hollered awake, and then the shower running--all before my alarm even went off. Not a fluke, it has happened every day since. Two weeks later we bought a clock for the fifteen-year-old, and now he's up on time too! They're both out of the house before I even wake up! After 18 years, it's like a dream. (They don't use the sound alarm loudly at all, it's that bed vibration that does it.)
This summer we'll buy one for the youngest's 13th birthday. Dad might be next.
They all sleep like the dead, so what can I say?

I bought this alarm for my hard of hearing wife. She was having trouble hearing out regular alarm clock in the mornings latey. I bought this as a Christmas gift. She was eager to try it. We put the vibrating piece under the mattress on her side and set it up for a test run. Works beautiful. Shakes enough that you can't sleep through it and I can hear it vibrate.
After using it for over a month, I must admit, its actually much more pieceful waking up to thatn our old buzzing alaram or the radio. This alarm does have a buzzer feature that gets VERY loud and has adjustable tones. We don't use that feature. We don't need to with the vibrator attachment.
I would definately recommend this for someone with hearing loss or heavy sleepers as well as someone that needs an alarm but doesn't want to wake up their partner/spouse every morning too.
Great product - so far so good!
