Customer Review: A lesson in patience. Gingko works - after several months.

Gingko does several things to the brain which enhances long and short term memory and probably concentration. It increases cerebral blood flow, it raises dopamine, probably does something to acetylcholine and supposedly increases serotonin receptor sites in the hippocampus or other memory oriented brain structures. It also does many other more subtle things which enhance cognition too numerous to list here. For something natural to do so many subtle and helpful things for the brain is basically miraculous and a divine gift. In my case it took 5-6 months to really just start seeing the effect. It was a real lesson in patience. I took 120mg.
Source naturals gingko smells pretty bad though. Its rank. It is not in capsule form and the smell is so strong - your hands will smell for hours after touching the pills. The outside of the bottle will smell after handling it following your handling of the pills and it wont go away. Forewarned is forearmed. Source naturals is a great company and probably offer some of the smartest and high quality products on the supplement market so I am not sure why they don't encapsulate their gingko. The same can be said for their L-tehanine serene. Another excellent product with a very smart combo of taurine, theanine, magnesium and other inhibitory amino acids but the pills have an unpleasant odor. Not as bad as gingko but bad enough to require encapsulation.
