My son also has autism and I tried melatonin at the suggestion of his pediatrician. We tried another brand first and had problems (meltdowns, regression etc.) due to the wheat in the caramel coloring. (We are gluten free, dairy free.) We love Source Naturals. Prior to using, my son (4 years old) would be up until 10 or 11 no matter what I did. Then he would wake up around 3 or 4 and stay up for awhile, then maybe fall back asleep until 5 or 5:30. We have been using source naturals for 3 months now and LOVE it. He takes 2 droppers 20 minutes before bed, crawls into bed and is asleep almost immediately. 98% of the time he sleeps all night until 6:30 or 7 with NO grogginess upon waking up unlike other sleep aids. If he does wake up in the night, he goes right back to sleep. I CANNOT recommend this enough! I want to add that he also has sensory issues and getting anything remotely medicine like in him is a huge fight, but he takes this with no fighting. It tastes like yummy oranges. My husband and I both tried it on different nights before we gave it to our son.
