Customer Reviews of Spine AlignerCustomer Review: Best by far Summary: 5 Stars
I have chronic migraines and tension in my back and shoulders triggers a lot of tension/standard migraines for me. I have about 7 different back tools and enjoy most, but this is my go-to tool. If I have a full blown migraine as soon as the meds kick in enough to let me move, I go to the floor and use this; if I feel myself tensing up a lot, I use it to prevent getting worse or the knot locking in.
This isn't meant to actually be rolled on, but used while still on one spot, then moved to the next location. I start at the base of my skull then work down, pretty much vertebrae at a time. I have seen either to do either 10 or 30 deep breathes per spot before moving on to make yourself/ your body relax around it. The only slight issue is that this takes time to get your whole back where some other items do the whole at once. IT'S WORTH IT THOUGH!! The first moment you lay down on it, you may levitate (I often do), because it goes so deep, but try and stick with it, easing if you have to. I will move my arms to different positions sometimes as I relax to hit knots differently or loosen them a little faster. You may be tender the next day, if you are sensitive, but I prefer tender and mobile to knotted/stiff/drugged up etc.
This does focus right at the edges of the spine, but you will be surprised by how much it helps other areas too when you can get these points to relax all down the back. ONE TIP: if you have a specific spot that hurts, still do the whole back if you have time (maybe start there though) because of how all the muscles connect and overlap I have been surprised what hitting say my lower back does to eventually help my shoulders-weird. If it doesn't hurt on one spot, still lay there for a little while and you will usually still relax more. MY BACK ACTUALLY CRAVES THIS THING. If you need good therapy for your back try it, even if you have others. Good Luck!
Customer Review: Not what I expected... should have come with info on using it Summary: 2 Stars
I assumed The back massager.. ( my mistake by assuming ) that it would have some type of instructions that came with it to show you how to use it safely and effectively. However, it came in a plastic bag with nothing but the back massager... I saw more info on line from other companies, when I first was looking for something for my back that I could do without injuring myself more. What I saw on other sights I just assumed that Amazon would send the product with instructions. I actually was going to send it back because I have no idea on how to use it. But, we have had some unexpected illness in my family and I have been busy taking care of that, and didn't realize that a month had gone by. It is still in the plastic bag and never been used.
I have never been disappointed in the past, but this purchase was a waste of my money since I have no idea how to use the product safely without causing further injury to my back.
I would NOT recommend this product unless it came with instructions in the future.. Oh and if you decide to do that, please send me a copy of those instructions as well... They would come in handy...
Customer Review: Didn't match picture Summary: 1 Stars
The item I received did not match the picture shown on the site at the time I ordered (and the time of this review). The item pictured has rubber rings on the ends of the roller and smooth, angled slopes from edge to inner track. The item I received had no rubber rings and a ridged flat slope from edge to inner track. Consequently, the roller I received slipped easily and after several uses the ridged portion began to cut my back. Home Naturals Inc.'s customer service rep was polite, but not terribly helpful. Amazon's customer service rep was fantastic though and resolved things to my satisfaction. I subsequently ordered the Body Back Company Back Roller sold through Amazon directly (which has the exact same item pictured for a couple of bucks more - unsurprisingly Amazon actually sent the item pictured instead of a poor substitute ;-) which I've found to work very nicely.
Customer Review: Thankful for the Reviews that Helped Me Decide to Buy This Summary: 5 Stars
I'm really glad I bought this roller (Maxi Backsie). For such a simple tool, it is really versatile. I have a specific spot in my back that pops out of place when I am sitting for any length of time. I've always used a pillow for support (and tried many kinds), but this roller lets me support that exact spot that pops out. I often use it in place of a support pillow. Surprisingly, it isn't uncomfortable to use it this way and the roller works with most chairs.
I also use this roller to gradually release my back as it is intended to be used. Sometimes this works great, other times if I am too stiff, it hurts too much. Overall, I love it.
Customer Review: too big and could easily cause injury! Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered this and right out of the box, this is clearly much too high (about 2 inches) to use in the prescribed manner. If you lie on the floor and place it between you and the floor you are quite likely to be injured, if not from the device directly from the muscle strain to hold a part of your back so high off the floor, while the rest of your back has no support.
The instructions clearly state that this should not be rolled on the back (which is one way I expected to use it) and that lying on top of it is the only acceptable use. I will be returning this item.
