We bought 2 of these car caddies because I was unable to get our daughter in the minivan from her wheelchair and she was not allowed to put much weight on her legs. I hooked one to the window frame (as shown) and the other to the handle above the door. By grasping both, she was able to support most of her weight and could hoist herself into the car with minimal assistance from me or her legs. Slide board didn't work because I couldn't slide her uphill from the wheelchair to the van seat. Prior to finding this solution, my husband had to put her in the minivan by picking her up.Customer Review: I used it a little differently

My mother has dificulty getting into cars. My Honda Element has a grabg bar above and to the right of the passenger seat. She uses it but it is slightly too high and slightly too far back to be optimal. I attached the CarCaddie to the grab bar. I tied a couple of elaborate knots in it and when she pulls down on it the knots tighten.
I broke the buckle while I was fiddling around with the Caddy (my fault). But it isn't needed for this appplication anyway.

This little handy strap handle is terrific and my client uses it everyday.
Never had any problem with door shutting on her, but she does make sure to open the door full and scoot out to edge of seat, then uses it to pull herself straight up.
When she needs to she uses it in addition to the Handybar.

Great grab bar. You can adjust these to the proper length/height which gives the user the extra support they need to pull themself up into the car. I found it very helpful to put it in my back window of my jeep which my mom used to hold onto and boost herself into the front seat.

I found that the item was totally unsuable when entering my vehicle. I was unable to hoist myself up from the item hagning from an open door.
I only receivedd a partial refund for a useless device. I was penalized by saying "I could not use it."
