My 4 yr old son frequently sucks his thumb during the day but mostly at night. I started him at night only. It worked for the week that he used it but could not send him to school with it because he was like an addict feening for his thumb. That was torture for him!! So I will restart the thumb guard this summer & gradually ween him off, hopefully we will have a better outcome! :)Customer Review: Works great, but not very sturdy

This guard worked great, however, it started to come apart after about 3 weeks. I wish I had just bought the double set so that I had an extra when the first one broke. After trying MANY things to stop the thumb-sucking, this was the only thing that worked. She didn't mind wearing at all. So I'm a big fan, but if your child is active, buy the double set in case one breaks!Customer Review: DId not work

My 4 year old son tried this for several weeks. He bit the top of the thumb guard and the salvia was trapped at the bottom of the device where he formed a bacterial infection on his thumb from continually being wet. Tried taping thumb with sports tape-did not work. Tried Thumb polish and 2 licks and wasn't too aweful. By age 7 he finally decided to stop all on his own.Customer Review: Too late.

I bought this for my 6 yr old. It did not work. If your child sucks their thumb than this might work but do it while they are small(baby)but this may choke a small child I think. My 6 yr old just switched thumbs and then worked it off while sleeping. Wish it would have worked, since school he has got Strep 3 times and is always picking up a cold. We bought this very expensive product as a last ditch effort to break our 6-year-old's habit. No matter how tight (short of pinching her skin) I put it on, she manages to pull her thumb out to suck on it. She chews on it too. Other than being embarrased to wear it, this product has been completely ineffective for us.
