Customer Reviews of Strivectin-SD Intensive Concentrate For Existing Stretch Marks Cream(6oz)Customer Review: So far so good. Summary: 4 Stars
I'm only giving this a 4 star because I've only been using the product for about 2 days. But, I've gotta say I'm so far *very* impressed. I live in the Boston area, and currently we're experiencing Arctic like temps and dry dry air. I needed something to make my face not feel like parchment. I found a tube of this cream at a local TJMaxx for waaaay below what it would normally cost. I'd heard all the hype and I figured here was my chance to give it a whirl. Before, the high price tag made it all but not an option for me.
I'm only 37 and will be 38 in a month or so. I've been trying to find a cream that improves some mild sun damage, mild acne scars, and a few areas of hyper pigmentation. I've always worn sunscreen but even so, I'm so fair that it's often been hard for me not to get freckles or mild burns in patches. I don't have many wrinkles or lines, but had been noticing, especially in the very dry winter air, my face has often looked a little dull and slack of late.
I've tried all sorts of better drug store creams, and even some all natural heathfood store brands. The best of them seemed to show initial results, but then seemed to taper off in terms of showing improvement. Enter StiVectin. I'm honestly quite impressed with how readily my skin has responded to this cream. Nothing else I've tried, not even Olay or Neutrogena products made my skin perk up, this fast. My skin tone is already more even. My skin feels smoother and appears more 'full'. Although many have expressed distaste for the aroma of the cream, I find it kind of refreshing and calming in scent. Even so, the smell doesn't linger on me. I only really notice it for a short time after applying.
I'm happy enough and impressed to keep up the usage, and I'll reserve more judgment as to if the initial reaction my skin had to the cream stays consistent, or improves further in a few weeks or more.
I DEFINITELY would not pay top dollar for this stuff. As much as I like it, had I not found it for very cheap at a local TJMaxx I probably would not have been able to afford to try it. Who knows? I'd been reading about the wide variation in who responds to this cream, and who doesn't. I might be one of the ones who's skin chemistry responds well to this stuff. Here's hoping! My face glows. I will be sure to report back.
Customer Review: Not Original Summary: 5 Stars
I've used Strivectin for years...Works great for me...gives my skin a wonderful texture and feeling...I'm also not real wrinkled but, wrinkles aren't a thing in my family either, we are more the going to bag and get jowls type...This product feels the same on my skin, looks like the original coming out of the tube, smells the same, but what I figured out is, it doesn't have the big "K" for Klienbecker on the bottom of the tube...Original Strivectin is packaged like that, they show a bottle like that on the picture here on Amazon, but when you get it, it doesn't have the "K" on it....That part they are deceiving you on, playing it off as original and it's not...What I've found out since is, its supposedly a generic of Strivectin, which is Striadril. Which I guess you could say is the main active ingredient in Strivectin...As we all know generics are just made by different companys, but the ingredients are the same...The initial drug company has a limited time to sell their product under their costs and restrictions and no one is allowed to copy it during this time period...Im guessing Kleinbecker's contract is up with the FDA or something otherwise there couldn't be a generic of Strivectin now, unless this is being sold illegally, or it's fake, I'm not sure...All I can tell you is what I said initially, it feels good and the same, so I guess I'll finish using it....I just thought I'd found a company that was selling it for less, original Strivectin is $135, and I've found it from a few cosmetic places for $99 with tax and that's as cheap as I've ever found it other than here...Guess I should have known something wasn't right, but as far as I can figure out the ingredients seems to be the same, I've wondered if someone would ever make a generic of Strivectin, that is a legitimate generic... I'll have to research this more....It's up to you...
Customer Review: it does make a difference Summary: 5 Stars
I started using the immitation Provection from wallgreen's at much less, i liked it and gave this a try. I really like this stuff, and it is way better than the cheap versions that claim to have the same ingredients. It won't erase time on your face, but it definately stops it! and makes the skin perfect - not oily, not dry, a nice glow. I've been using it for 2 years now-used to get it at GNC which was cheaper than Macy's, have not bought it over line but will as it saves at least $40.00. it is a big tube and lasts a good time, i only need to replace it about 2 times a year. I did try it on stretch marks and noticed nothing so i don't waste it on that anymore, but it does have a nice overall effect on the face especially if you are over 40. I hate their stupid "dumb luck" add, can't see how it sells on that, but i read about older models using this product and like i said tried the cheaper copycat version first which does not do justice to the real thing. Use it 2x a day to see any results. Yes, it's pricey , but it is also 3x the size of most face creams. I also have not used it when traveling, didn't want to pack the big tube, and would definately not feel or look as nice in a matter of days without it. It's not a miracle, but it is pretty neat stuff.
Customer Review: Hoax claims - but feels great on skin Summary: 2 Stars
I have used Strivectin three times a day for about three years. Being 45, I would have appreciated the disappearance of some lines or wrinkles. However, there is absolutely no change in them with Strivectin. I find the claims to be bogus and I'm glad the FDA has been investigating them.
On the other hand, this moisturizer feels better on my skin than any other I've used. I love the feeling of it! Peppermint is what makes it feel cool but apart from that it is wonderfully thick and luscious on the skin without being sticky or oily. Of course, there are probably moisturizers for a quarter of the cost that feel just as good. The problem is that most moisturizers are for women and contain scents that are supposed to appeal to women (although I cannot imagine how they would). Strivectin does not contain strong scent so it is suitable for men to wear.
Therefore I give this 0/5 stars for doing what it says it does - because the claims made for the product are bogus based on my experience. I give this product 2/5 for being a good men's moisturizer but it is way too expensive for a mere moisturizer so cannot be rated more highly than 2/5.
Customer Review: My Favorite Product! Summary: 5 Stars
NO BOTOX: *StriVectin-SD* 6 Oz [NEW GLOSSY Packaging, EXP.2009]: Anti-Aging Breakthrough. ERASE Face Wrinkles & Stretch-Marks. BEST-SELLER for 2nd Year in a Row.
I use different lines of products, which I like. But I always apply Strivectin first. I also use it, of course, when I am not wearing makeup nor any other products.
The "why" is that it leaves my skin feeling supple, never tight. I have combination skin, so I do not apply it to oily areas. It simply makes my skin feel healthy. I use just a little bit, and pat it on the dry areas and a big scar across my throat from surgery.
I do not concur that it is "better than botox" or that it erases lines, unless they are lines from dry skin. It does not have the ingredients to do that! But it is the one product I can't live without!
