Customer Reviews of Swiffer SweeperVac Rechargeable Cordless Vacuum Starter Kit (Packaging May Vary)Customer Review: NEVER BEEN A FAN OF THE SWIFTER... Summary: 5 Stars
...until now. OK, let's put things into perspective, it only cost me $28 and change. We have a shark at home, but I really wanted something to sort of hug the tile & floors, you know, getting up all the dust. I saw this and thought it was a little different, so I tried it. Boy was I impressed! The vacuum was much more powerful than I anticipated, although, sometimes I'll see a chunck (not sure what it is) and it won't pick up. Maybe it's too big to fit under the vacuum head. Most times, I see hair, feathers, birdseed, grass just get sucked right up. I can't believe that someone said you can't get into the corners - that's what I love best about it! It handles just like a regular Swifter (you can swivel the head around) I am able to push the vacuum parallel to my floor boards and just run it along them, I am able to get under the door stops, under furniture, in between furniture. And the cool thing is, what the vacuum does not pick up, the little swifter pad does. It's super light weight, easy for everyday and surprisingly powerful for the price. When I pull the pad off and see all the dust I've picked up on even clean floors and then toss it in the trash, I feel great. The filter is usually filled with mostly dust & hair (which some have complained about) but the way I see it, is that was on my floors & now it's in my trash. The charge lasts me for at least my entire house (I'm pretty quick though) and I have about a 2,100 sqft home, with mostly tile (BR's & living room with carpet)
OK...so it's not perfect, now if you have some tacky or sticky drops on your floor, you know, the kind you might not notice for a few days. Anyway, as you clean your floors, the pad is picking up all sorts of dirt & dust (this is great) however, when you do go over those sticky spots, the spots will pick up the dirt from the pad & make them very noticeable. At first I was irritated by this. Then after being "forced" to grab a sponge to wipe up the few spots I saw, I realized that maybe, this isn't such a bad thing - just because I couldn't really see the spots, didn't mean they weren't there. Those spots will eventually start to show up in a matter of days or even hours. Well, needless to say, my floors look great & most of all, I feel like they are really clean.
And for [...], I like it better than the [..] shark - just my 2 cents worth.

Customer Review: Nice product. Summary: 4 Stars
First things first. This is a $30 vacuum. Going into it you shouldn't be expecting too much.
I have an apartment with about 80% hardwood floors. My previous cleaning routine included sweeping it all with a broom, and then using a swiffer sweeper to pick up what the broom left behind. Worked well, but it's a hassle having to go over all my hardwood floors twice.
So, being a fan of the swiffer sweeper, I found the swiffer sweeper/vac combo. Here are my first impressions:
* Seems surprisingly well made for the price.
* The first, initial charge takes 24 hours. That was irritating as I wanted to try it out right away. Subsequent charges take forever too (something like 16 hours). Not a huge deal since it's not like I am using it constantly, but it would be nice if they used battery technology from this century.
* My first couple times using it, it seems that 98% of the stuff it vacuums gets stuck to the filter, and the other 2% collects in the cup. This means that it loses suction because the filter gets clogged with all the junk. Because of this, you'll get used to cleaning the filter on a regular basis if you want to get best results from the vacuum. I have a hunch that this is an intentional result, to get people to replace the filters more frequently. I also have a hunch that it may not be difficult to rig up a "homemade" filter that things won't stick to. I haven't ventured down that road yet.
* It's picked up everything on my hardwood floor that I've thrown at it. Small things like dust and hair are no problem, and I've had it pick up cereal (cheerios) easily as well.
* It's very manuverable. I'm able to whip around my entire place, underneath chairs, around furniture, etc... in no time.
* It's really quiet compared to my upright full-sized vac. I'd say the noise level is on par with dustbusters that I'm used to hearing.
* I can do all my hardwood floors in 1 pass now with the sweeper/vac combo.
Overall I'd say I'm happy with the product, and feel that it's a bargain at $30.
Customer Review: Hubby is Happy!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Finally, I'm not crying about our floors. My husband and I and our 3 horses, 3 dogs (indoor visitors) and 4 indoor/outdoor cats live in the desert of Arizona, 66 miles from the nearest town. It's dusty, rocky, prickly, mountainous and hot and we love it. A year and a half ago, we put dark laminate flooring throughout our entire house. My husband is retired and does a fabulous job of playing "Mr. Mom" and taking care of almost everything here at home while I work. The flooring has been an absolute nightmare for him to the point where every time it was discussed, I ended up in tears because I couldn't solve his frustration. All the dry dust and dirt and pet hair (not to mention our messes) were making his efforts to keep the floors clean nothing but an exercise in futility. Then we found the Swiffer Sweeper-Vac. We had tried everything else we could think of and spent lots and lots of money with very poor to no results... so what's another $30? My husband is now, officially, affectionately referred to as my "cheap date." What a difference $30 can make! He is so impressed with this little machine that all of our friends and neighbors have heard about it and we have since purchased a second one just in case the first should become inoperable (this also includes a huge supply of filters.) He whips through the whole house in minutes and it is no longer a chore to clean the floors. Whereas most of us would get grossed-out when pulling out the filter, he marvels at everything that it has picked up. He says his only wish is that ideally you wouldn't need to run the battery completely down before recharging (which seems to make it operate better/longer) and that the battery life per use were a little longer... not to mention that his wife should keep stuff picked up off from the floors so he wouldn't have to! This may not be your lifestyle, this may not be your answer but it sure is ours. Thank you, Swiffer - Great Job!!
Customer Review: A Step Backward Summary: 4 Stars
This is my second SweeperVac. It has changed some from the first design, albeit in a negative way. If any of the first generation are still out there, I would advise you to buy one.
The differences are thus: the first model has the on/off button on the handle, where you can reach it while holding the handle. The new model requires you to bend over to reach the button. Less convenient.
When you plug the charger into the first model, the charge light goes on, period. You leave it this way, and use the sweeper when you need it. You get quite a bit of use per charge - I can do the whole first floor (wood) in my townhouse. The new model lights up red when you plug in the charger, and eventually changes to green when fully charged. The problem is that, after I used the new machine for less than two minutes, it took many hours before the light again changed to green. I am sure the sweeper would have worked for a long time after the first two minutes, but it is worrisome to note that the red light seem always to be on if the machine is used daily.
Other than these changes, the unit provides quite a bit of suction for picking up everyday dust and dirt. It is especially good at picking up things right up to the baseboard - something larger vacuums have difficulty with. It is very light in weight which is quite a relief from larger units and therefore you will use it more often. You have no cord to worry about, and it takes up very little storage space. It is also relatively easy to empty, and doesn't require bags. As far as the pads, I don't think they do much, so you probably won't change them very often.
And finally, buying this on Amazon gives you a significant price reduction from local stores and no sales tax. This sweeper is a very useful adjunct to larger plug-in types and, as long as you use it for its intended purpose, you will be quite satisfied.
Customer Review: Excellent solution to floors needing a daily once-over. Not for picking up anything heavier than small crumbs. Summary: 4 Stars
I am very happy with my Swiffer SweeperVac. I live in an area (desert) which has a very fine sandy dust which gets inside all the time. Unfortunately this dust doesn't sweep along with a broom easily nor cling well to the swiffer cloth, yet I still want to pick up hair, fine fibers and dust. The vacuum part of this sweeper is perfect for that reason. Dust makes me sneeze a lot and if you can just see what you are sweeping with a regular broom (look through a ray of sunlight while using the dustpan) you know what I mean. I wish the vacuum had a little bit stronger suction, like probably everyone else that uses it. However I still love my sweeper vac because it does two jobs I like to perform daily, and usually quickly: bathroom (fine dust, hair) and kitchen-(fine dust and food crumbs). I run it around and around in a pattern, swivelling it and pushing it just in one direction (forward), not back and forth. I tend to run it till it shuts off, then I plug it in and leave it to charge till the next use. I have owned this machine almost a year and no problems. The filter I just take outside and blow out carefully in about 5 seconds with my husband's air compressor in his shop (lucky me) which cleans the filter perfectly, and it is white and usuable again, so far I have not bought any extra filters. I feel the swiffer sweepervac would be a fantastic tool for busy families (eg with both parents working)who might have small crawling kids and /or a dog (I have neither but know lots of folks who do). I hear about what a chore it is and takes time and energy to drag out the large vacuum just to be sure and get the daily deposit of crumbs and dog hair off the kitchen floor. The Swiffer Sweepervac is the perfect answer to that because it weighs little, is fast and cheap and it sweeps dust and vacuums. If they come up with a newer model with a slightly stronger vacuum I will get it.
