Customer Reviews of Swiffer SweeperVac Rechargeable Cordless Vacuum Starter Kit (Packaging May Vary)Customer Review: Great for small jobs ... but ... Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this vac mostly because we got a new puppy and we were getting so many messes in the house I was using the big vacuum 3 times a day (he loves to bring in dirt and grass on his paws and whatever else meets his fancy)
This little vac really does a nice job, it picks up just about any sort of hair and dirt on the ground, as well as kitty litter!
So why only 3 stars? The vac's charge is terrible. The recharge time is insane, I dont see how this is energy saving for me, sure its more convenient but at what cost? I havent receive my power bill yet to say if its a big change.
Now I admit I have a pretty large home I do with this little vac but after each use which I would say is about 10 mins I have to recharge it, its not dying but if I dont charge it the next time I do use it, it will probably die.
And it takes almost 24 hours to get a full charge! Thats crazy!
The vac has a small filter. I took one of the reviewers suggestion and after each use I empty the vac and clean the filter out with a toothbrush and some dish soap. Its about a month old and the filter still looks new! So dont go out changing the filter you dont need too that often. The pads for the vac are a bit pricy (Almost $5 for 20 of them) but I guess I can make due with that.
So all in all this vac is so convenient and light weight and does a wonderful job, but the battery and charge time is truly a draw back.
Customer Review: you don't have to buy new filters!!! Summary: 4 Stars
you don't have to buy new filters, just use the housekeeper equipment from your regular vacuum to clean the filter; i use the crevice tool.
i have had my swiffer sweeper for over a year now with no problems. since the charge does not last long (i get maybe 10 to 15 minutes) in order to finish all my floors, i leave the swiffer turned off, flip up the sweeper head and move all the dirt into one place and then sweep up the dirt and go around the baseboards and do the same for the rest of the rooms.
so, why buy this when it would be cheaper to buy the plain swiffer sweeper, the one without the vacuum? let me just say every day dry kitchen spills; coffee grinds, the dog knocked over the garbage, the kids crushed oyster crackers all over the floor, no dust pan. by the way, this is really good for broken light bulbs and glass on the kitchen floor; when i used a regular broom there would still be glass slivers in the floor weeks later. it only takes a couple of minutes to clean up the above mess.
i might get that shamwow and cut it to fit my swiffer vacuum and wet jet, that would save some money since the shamwow can be tossed in the washer.
i would have given this a five star if the charge lasted longer and
they sold reusable cloths for this. if my swiffer breaks, i will get another one.

Customer Review: Works like a charm! Summary: 4 Stars
We have 50-year old wood floors and brand new wood laminate floors. Both are a challenge to keep looking good and the Swiffer products, both the vacuum and the Wet Jet, work great on them. The 50-year old floors looked much better after I used the vacuum followed by the Wet Jet. After I used the Swiffer products, flooring uncovered after we removed an area rug blended right in with other parts of the floor that had been exposed all along.
After we installed the wood laminate floors, we used the manufacturer's cleaning product. All we ended up with was a pile of the dirt and crumbs it collected. Brooms didn't work and an upright vacuum could scratch the floor. When I used the Swiffer vacuum, it picked up all the pieces and dust and the pad captured the rest. It doesn't always pick up the larger pieces but that's OK because I can pick those up as I go along. The floor looked terrific when I was done and the cleaning went fast. The unit is very light and easy to use. I only wish the charge would last longer.
The Swiffer vacuum also worked very well on stone floors we have in the kitchens and bathrooms, picking up the bits of food, dust and hair that collects. Since the head swivels and is narrow and the motor is small, it reaches under, around and up to the edge of everything.
Customer Review: Great product for the price Summary: 5 Stars
After reviewing many possibilities for vacuuming wood floors I decided to go with the Swiffer Sweeper. It's light weight, easy to use, and really does the job. I only have 3 small rooms to clean, so have not had issues with battery life that others have mentioned. Before using, I charged it for 24 hours as instructed, this is suppose to help preserve battery life so don't skip this step! After visiting vacuum stores and looking at many reviews, using a standard vacuum cleaner to clean floors either doesn't work well (blows the dirt away before it can be vacuumed) or is bad for the floor (if the rotating brushes can't be turned off). Other sites don't recommend using a wet mop, or wet vacuum. The Swiffer Sweeper has kind of a dust cloth and vacuum so you can pick up dust with the cloth, and pet hair and small dirt with the vacuum. I haven't tried to pick up larger debris such as dog kibble or cheerios, but some have said that it didn't do that well. I have had it only for a month so can't speak to the reliability. Haven't bought any spare dust cloths yet, so there is a periodic cost (you get two with purchase). You can use both sides of the dust cloth so don't forget to do that to save money. For the price of under $30, it's really hard to beat this product.
