Customer Review: Nice, but could be better.

The sweeper vac is the best thing for people with hardwood/tile etc and who own animals. It's cordless, so it's convenient, and the swiffer pads can hold a lot of dirt on their own.
However.
1. The canister is small. Halfway through the house I have to empty it.
2. Like most rechargable things, the batteries WILL DIE. We got a year-and-a-half of use out of our old one before it started dying in the middle of cleaning. It takes a while to recharge, as well.
3. I haven't been able to clean the filter well or find filter replacements.
4. It won't pick up some things, and doesn't work well in corners. (I was hoping it'd pick up the fuzz from my dogs' toys.)
If Swiffer would address these concerns and produce a new model, it would be PERFECT. Even with its flaws, it's a great product. It's perfect for when unexpected company arrive; you just zip around, and it looks like you spent an hour vaccuuming. It's a must-have for anyone with wood, vinyl, laminate, or tile.

I bought this product a few months back as i saw it advertised and thought what a great idea, i have a big vacuum and it is awkward to use and really loud so i don't like using it on my vinyl floors (kitchen and bathroom), so i thought the swiffer vac looked really handy. When i first bought it i put it together and charged it and tried it out, it worked great, sucked up spilt cat litter in the bathroom and little dry food mess in the kitchen etc, it was great. Then a couple months on i noticed it start to lose suction, then it would only work when it was fully charged (like the instant i took it off charge and only for like 10 mins and then it would lose suction again) and now a couple months later it will hardly suck anything up, and i'm talking like some bits of dry rice etc, it wont suck it up, and some things it does suck up just fall back out again. I am very disappointed in it as it seemed like such a great product, i have emailed swiffer about it but am not expecting much.Customer Review: Great for laminate & vinyl floors

We had just removed all carpets and installed laminate & vinyl floors. We have two dogs that shed a lot.
I bought one of these and loved it.
But then it wouldn't run 5 minutes. Swiffer help is No HELP. She told me that the pad was to be used to move everything in a pile and then use the vacuum to pick up the pile. That is no where in there directions.
I finally fully discharged the batttery & recharged 3 or 4 times, then tried again. I can now vacuum two rooms thoroughly. These are inexpensive enough to buy another, so I did. With these and my Shark Carpet sweeper, I can now quickly go through my whole downstairs. I clean the filters with my big vac and change the pad, before completely discharging the swiffer vacs. Then I change the pads, plug them in and they are ready to go for the next day. I do buy off brand pads at Walmart and use both sides.
Now, I just need to get out that heavy old vac to occassionally deep clean my rugs.

I would give this thing 100 stars if I could. Originally I bought it to sweep up the little particles of cat litter that seem to get all over the bathroom floor. The box states that it will forever replace the dustpan and boy is it right! It sucks up everything in no time flat including dust and hair in the bathroom. I threw out my dustpan because I will never need it again. No longer will my back ache by having to bend to the floor to sweep dirt into a dustpan and say goodbye to those annoying track lines you get with a dustpan. It takes seconds to use. The cordless feature is excellent. Also, it weighs NOTHING! I have even picked it up and used it to clean the top of my bathroom counters! I can't imagine anything getting any better than this. I use it on my hardwood floors and I have had no scratches whatsoever. I bought mine at Wal Mart and they also carry the replacement filters for it. I happen to like all the Swiffer products but this one is my favorite.Customer Review: loses charge fast, not recommended for tree huggers!

I used one of these for a 2 bedroom apartment for 1 year. what drove me nuts was that I had to remember to plug it in one day before I planned on using it (if you charge it, unplug it, and then put it away, it would lose it's charge).
once it is fully charged, it just barely has the juice to cover a 2-bedroom apartment (mine was only about 600 sq feet).
if any debris bigger than 1mm got in front of it (for example, coarse dirt or a grain of rice), the vacuum didn't have enough clearance to pick it up. it would just push it around.
now for my tree hugger comment: this is a "use for one year and throw away" kind of appliance. it would be better for the environment (and in the long run, your pocket book) to invest in a better quality vac that you don't have to replace for a long time! I also hate that the cloths are disposable. so wasteful. however, you can use a reusable microfiber cloth on this kind of thing and then wash it.
